Wandering Through SF’s Little Italy 🍖

Accidentally Tasting the Soul of France On a sunny afternoon, I visited one of the most charming French delis in San Francisco, Maison Nico, hidden on the very Italian-inspired Montgomery Street. The pink iron chairs and round tables are perfect for photos! The little shop feels like an épicerie straight out of Paris—artistic and gentle. Sitting by the street, the Instagram vibe is off the charts! 🌟 This time, I tried their two most iconic Pâté en Croûte, each bite a testament to French craftsmanship: 1️⃣ Pâté en Croûte de Porc et Herbes (Pork and Herb Pâté en Croûte) The pork is paired with fresh herbs (parsley/greenery), creating a delicate and fragrant filling with rich layers. It’s not greasy at all; instead, it feels like it’s seasoned by nature itself (it reminded me of the taste of shepherd’s pie 🥔, haha). 2️⃣ Pâté en Croûte au Foie Gras et Pistache (Foie Gras and Pistachio Pâté en Croûte) The foie gras is smooth and rich, mixed with crushed pistachios and candied orange/citrus peel, topped with a layer of translucent jelly. The exterior is crispy while the inside is moist, with flavors slowly blossoming in your mouth. This is the pinnacle of French savory treats! I really loved the addition of citrus, which perfectly cuts through the richness. The entire shop is elegant and adorable, making it super photogenic. It’s perfect for a girls’ gathering or a sophisticated solo afternoon. 🌸 Maison Nico 710 Montgomery St, San Francisco, CA 94111 Average Cost: $15–$30 #FoodHeals #ComfortFood #Pastry #FrenchCuisine #SanFranciscoBayArea
