Warning! Never Expected a Parfait to Be This Unpleasant(1) 🍦

PÂTISSERIE ASAKO IWAYANAGI in Tokyo is a well-known spot, especially for their parfaits. 🎢🌸 Supposedly, their parfaits are incredibly popular, especially on Saturdays. You need to book in advance online just to get a taste. 😱 🎢🌸And here's the kicker: when you make the reservation, you have to pay upfront, and there's no cancellation allowed. The shop only offers two types of parfaits, both seasonal and limited edition—one with figs and the other with chestnuts. 🌇🌿 I was worried that the chestnut parfait would be too sweet and high in calories, so I went for the fig one. 🎢🌸Figs are also quite rare in Japan, making them even more popular. 🍃 🌇🌿The shop is located in Todoroki, which is a bit out of the way and requires a ride on the Tokyu Den-en Toshi Line. The seating is quite limited, but every seat was taken when we visited. 🎢🌸 The set we ordered was just under 6000 yen, which included one parfait and a cup of tea. 🌇🌿When the parfait arrived, we were all taken aback—never imagined ice cream could taste this bad! 😭 The top layer was various types of figs, which were quite sweet and tasted decent. 🎢🌸 They also added some blue cheese, probably to balance the sweetness with some saltiness. It was bearable, but just barely. 🧀 #Tokyo 🌟
