Waseda Half-Day City Walk (2)๐๏ธโจ
๐ฉโ๐ Waseda University ๐ During the holiday, there weren't many students around, so we could wander freely. Some of the buildings had small exhibitions. We initially couldn't find the Haruki Murakami Library, so we asked a staff member. They kindly took out a campus map and explained it to us. ๐บ๏ธ The campus itself isn't very large, and after a few turns, we found it. There's a cafรฉ on B1 where you can rest if you're tired. The environment is nice, and the prices are reasonableโboth desserts and coffee are 500 yen. Afterward, we visited the film exhibition in the building across the street. It has three floors, but since it closed at 5 PM, we only had a quick 8-minute tour. Finally, we went to David's Courtyard. The area with the large lawn and the statue of Confucius was locked. We're not sure if it was closed for the holiday or if it just closes after 5 PM. ๐ฟ โฉ Horen-ji Temple ๐ฟ Since it was after 5 PM, the temple was already closed, so we just took some photos of the wind chimes at the entrance. The temple is famous for its hydrangea-filled washing basin in June, but it's probably out of season now. We thought about going in for a quick look, so I suggest visiting earlier if you can. Across from Horen-ji Temple is a Hachiman Shrine. We just wandered up there and saw the Budai (Hotei) washing basin. The main hall was also closed. ๐ฏ โ๏ธ Dinner and Going Home ๐ We found an izakaya near the subway station for dinner and then headed home. ๐ #BusinessTripDiary ๐ #Tokyo ๐ #WasedaUniversity ๐
