Washington DC Getaway|Virginia Beach Trip
#WinterTravelPlan 🌊 🦃 Thanksgiving Trip – Virginia Beach Spent a three-day, two-night holiday with friends at Virginia Beach over Thanksgiving! Just a short escape from DC, less crowded and super relaxing. ✈️ Flight Route: DCA Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport 🛬 ORF Norfolk International Airport We ended up flying both ways—it was only a 30-minute flight 😂 (probably the shortest I’ve ever been on!). Still, driving is also a good option—it takes about 4 hours from DC. 🏨 Hotel: Delta Hotels by Marriott Virginia Beach Bayfront Suites 📍 2800 Shore Dr, Virginia Beach, VA 23451 The hotel was fantastic! Spacious suites with complete amenities. Best part? It has direct access to a “private beach”—quiet, clean, and not crowded at all. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. Prices were reasonable even during the holiday. One small downside: it’s a bit tucked away, so Ubers took a bit longer, and most places were about a 20-minute ride. 🐠 Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center Since Atlantic Fun Park was closed, we visited the aquarium instead (P4). It was educational and fun—lots of interactive exhibits! Perfect for a relaxed day. 🍽️ Restaurants We picked these based on Google Maps ratings—decent overall! Here’s a quick review: 1️⃣ Judy's Sichuan Cuisine (Sichuan) Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2️⃣ Le Yaca Virginia Beach (French) Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3️⃣ Waterman's Surfside Grille (Seafood) Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4️⃣ Tin Cup Kitchen + Oyster Bar (Seafood) Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5️⃣ Steinhilber's Restaurant (Recommended by a friend—didn’t make it this time!) 💬 Final Thoughts: Had a wonderful time! 🥰 The beach in winter is chilly but peaceful—we caught a gorgeous seaside sunset 🌅❤️. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a calm, nearby getaway. If you’re all about food and activities, though, options here are a bit simple. #Virginia #VirginiaBeach #FoodAndFunInVA #DMV #DMVTravel #DCAroundTown #BeachVibes
