As a Southerner stuck in the snowless Bay Area, I had to go find snow myself～ 🏔️ Weed, CA The easily photographable snowy mountain backdrop 🏔️ makes even chain fast-food restaurants look instantly luxurious✨! Shops at the town entrance sell lots of souvenir puns on the town name 😉. Picture 3 is Mt. Shasta View Point north of town. At sunset 🌄, the 20-minute drive back turned into an hour with all the stops 🛣️…wish the lighting angle lasted longer for the camera—eyes only 👀! 🌲 Bunny Flat Trailhead Driving up close to Shasta was breathtaking 🤯! The views on the other side of the mountain road were just as stunning ⛰️. Too bad we ran out of time, or I would’ve “reluctantly” hiked a bit 🥾 (totally lying). 🧖🏻‍♀️ Burney Falls A massive waterfall totally worth the detour 💦! The loop is only 1.2 miles, or you can head straight to the lower viewing platform (0.3 miles from parking) 📍. From the left side of the platform, you can shakily cross a rocky path to the VIP spot closest to the falls 🎫—but it’s SUPER slippery! 😭 Mist attacks from head to toe 💦, and I tragically collapsed 20 meters from the front line… If you can’t reach the spot in pics 7/8, the higher view might be better for photos 📸! 💧 McCloud Falls A smaller waterfall visited after Burney 🌊, with Upper/Middle/Lower Falls sections. Hikers can follow the 4-mile trail along the creek 🥾, while lazy drivers can park right at each section 🅿️ (viewing platforms nearby). If I had to choose, Middle Falls wins 👍! But honestly, the views of Shasta along Highway 89 on the way there 🛣️🏔️ were even more recommended! 🍔 YAKS on the 5 Dinner at this popular burger joint in Dunsmuir 🍔! Cilantro lovers must try the Cilantro Bomb Burger + Garlic Fries 🧄—huge portions and flavor worth every penny of the $30+ 💰. Ambitions of finishing with a Sticky Bun dessert 🍯 were crushed by a garlic-filled sigh of fullness 😮‍💨… 🌠 Sundial Bridge Stayed at Sheraton Redding Hotel 🏨, perfectly located right outside Turtle Bay Park 🌿.
