Weekend in the Bay Area | Palace of Fine Arts ✨🏛️

Today’s visit to the Palace of Fine Arts left me *speechless*! The scenery is so European —straight out of Greece! 🇬🇷 (Turns out, the design *was* inspired by Greek architecture 💡). Parking’s a bit tricky (had to walk a bit 🥲), but totally worth it. 💍 Wedding Central: Spotted 4-5 couples taking wedding photos—*romantic vibes everywhere*! 📚 History Deep Dive: 🌟 1915 Panama-Pacific Expo: Built for the world’s fair , showcasing SF’s post-earthquake revival. Designed by Bernard Maybeck with *Roman/Greek ruins* as inspiration—think grand domes, arches, and intricate carvings! 🌟 Near-Demolition & Revival: Almost torn down after the Expo (locals *fought to save it*!). By the 1950s, it was crumbling—until a 1960s rebuild made it permanent (thanks, concrete!). 🌟 Modern Fame: Now a film star (seen in *Birdman* and *Star Trek*!) and cultural hub for art exhibits + events. 📸 Why Visit? Instagram gold (hello, columns + reflections!). ✅ Peaceful walks by the lagoon. ✅ Free admission (just pay for parking 🚗). #SFLandmarks #HiddenHistory #WeekendVibes
