Well-Deserved Hype for Hell’s Kitchen 🍽️🔥
We’ve all heard the legends of Hell’s Kitchen – and since we were in Vegas, we had to try it. Of course, we didn’t decide last minute – I booked our table two months in advance online. <ss: So proactive! 😆> We walked over from Aria, but ran into roadwork near Bellagio 🚧, had to detour, and almost arrived 15 minutes late (heard they cancel reservations if you’re late!). <ss: I refused to re-queue and power-walked like crazy, but the streets were packed – couldn’t move fast!> When we arrived, the line outside was already long, and the inside felt a bit crowded. After giving our name, we waited another 20 minutes to be seated. Not super hungry, we ordered one appetizer and two mains. While waiting, I gazed out at the pink glow of the Flamingo hotel, the dim lighting inside, the bustling chatter around us, and chatted slowly with my girlfriend. Felt truly content… until the appetizer arrived and cut my moment short 😂. Oven Roasted Octopus Really good! The octopus itself was quality, but the star was the roasted baby potatoes – crispy skin, perfectly done. The chimichurri sauce was spot-on. 4.5🌟 Beef Wellington Is this… what Beef Wellington is supposed to be? Because it’s AMAZING. I usually don’t like any form of rare meat, but the medium-rare here was just right. The fragrant pastry, dipped into the creamy mashed potatoes on the plate – a heavenly match. Probably the best steak I’ve ever had. 5🌟 recommendation! <ss: So tender! Great for trying something new. I never touch mashed potatoes at work catering, but here I couldn’t stop eating them!> Roasted Branzino Let’s just call it… fishy skin-on cod + wilted rice. Sounds unappetizing, and yeah, it was. 1🌟 max. I’ll boldly say my homemade cod is a couple streets ahead of this. No reason to order unless the kitchen ran out of everything else. Even though the cod was disappointing, the overall experience was good. We ate for two hours, and when we left, the line we saw when entering was still there – probably walk-ins. If you want to try it, book ahead and go for it – at least the Wellington is worth it. But if you have to wait 2 hours as a walk-in, it’s not that magical. That said… I’m curious – what food do you think is worth waiting 2 hours for? Also, besides Hell’s Kitchen, anyone know other places with great Beef Wellington?
