What Does the Food Taste Like in Beirut—The City Fighting Israel?
We always see Beirut, Lebanon, in the news clashing with Israel, so the Middle East seems more about gunpowder than gourmet. But by chance, I stumbled upon this Beirut restaurant in Terminal 21 Asok, Bangkok, and couldn’t resist giving it a try. Verdict? Not bad at all! 😅😂 🍖 The Highlights: Grilled Meat: 10/10 🔥 Flatbread (🫓): Just plain dough—nothing to rave about. Meat Sauce + Bread: Sour and spicy, but nowhere near Chinese "13-spice" level. Still, not terrible. Grilled Onions & Peppers: Actually interesting—charred yet juicy 🤔 How do they do it? Golden Rice: A winner! 🏆 Tastes like Xinjiang-style pilaf—delicious. Mint Drink: Refreshingly tangy, like Thai lemongrass soda. Unexpectedly good! Hummus: Polarizing! I didn’t like it, but my wife loved it. 😌 Final Thoughts: A fun and unexpected taste of Middle Eastern flavors—beyond the bombs and bullets. Bangkok really is a global food paradise! Flying back to China next week—hit me up if you want recommendations! 🫡 #FoodExploration #MustEat #Delicious #HiddenGems #BangkokEats #BeirutFlavors #MiddleEasternFood #TravelEats
