What to eat during a one-week business trip to Brazil🤔
Food is the top priority for people, and that's so true! As a native Sichuan-Chongqing foodie, I need a bit of chili with everything to feel it's delicious🌶️. I've tried quite a few Chinese restaurants in São Paulo, but if you really ask me what to eat every day in Brazil, I still don't have a clear answer—it's always a bit chaotic and confusing. This week, I ate my way from São Paulo to Rio➡️, trying both authentic local dishes and delicious Chinese food. The wonderful blend of Chinese and Western flavors has actually made me gradually fall in love with the food here~ Day 1:🍻Mocellin Steakhouse A "grill" test right after landing! I dragged my suitcase straight to the legendary Brazilian churrascaria, couldn't wait at all🔥! Waiters in the restaurant shuttled around holding steaks bigger than my face—top sirloin, tri-tip, grilled pineapple... The aroma of fat mixed with fruit fragrance wafted into my nose, and one bite was absolutely amazing! All kinds of meat were tender and juicy, I couldn't stop eating, and chugged 3 cans of cola to ease the greasiness, so satisfied that I burped😋! Day 2:🍔 Burger King I was so busy outside at noon today, and when I checked the time, it was almost 2 o'clock, so I just popped into the nearby Burger King to grab a quick bite. Surprisingly, the burgers here taste better than the ones in China, but the portions are really small. With my appetite, I feel like I could eat 3 in one meal😅! The milkshake was good though, just way too sweet, couldn't finish it after two sips⚠️ Day 3: OUTBACK STEAK This is supposed to be a famous Australian chain steakhouse, but turns out the fried chicken is better than the steak! Taste-wise, 6.5 out of 10 is a fair score~ The funniest thing is that the restroom sign was slang. I stood at the door translating it with a translation app, terrified of pushing the wrong door, that would've been so awkward😂 Day 4: Hotpot🍲 First time going to a Chinese supermarket in Brazil. The store isn't big and has no signboard, looks like a domestic grocery store, but it's full of surprises! There are lots of Chinese seasonings and snacks. I was so craving snacks when I first arrived, but when I actually stood in front of the shelves, I thought "I can hold on a bit longer"😆. Hurriedly bought ingredients, and finally had hotpot in a foreign country! Swished tripe and fatty beef in the pot, dipped in sesame oil and garlic sauce—this hot soup soothed all my homesickness😁 Day 5: Brazilian kilo rice🍚 When I first arrived in São Paulo, I couldn't find where to eat and didn't get to try this specialty. Finally got to experience it today! It's a bit like Damixiansheng in China, the dishes are neatly arranged and look appetizing. But my big appetite is really something—I need to spend 80 reais for a meal, felt a bit sheepish😅 Weekly summary: Every day is bombarded with high calories + high mood!🥳 Brazilians' passion and enthusiasm for food are truly in every bite—barbecue is a carnival, desserts are joy, every mouthful is lively. It's just that eating too much is a bit overwhelming. Maybe I should start cutting sugar and reducing salt, otherwise I might not recognize myself when I go back😂 (The first picture is clickbait by the way~ It's the big meal I had before coming to Brazil. A Sichuan-Chongqing kid's homesickness is all in the stomach😭) #Brazil #BusinessTrip #Foodie #Rio
