Where to Go This Weekend—Chiharu Shiota’s First Exhibition in New York

📅:September 12, 2025 – January 11, 2026 🎫:Adult $15 | Student $10 📍: Japan Society 🎬: Chiharu Shiota: Two Home Countries The exhibition includes both the main show and an interactive play section (separate ticket required). Although it’s timed entry, my friends and I arrived 36 minutes late and the staff still let us in—though if you’re there for the play, that might be a different story! 😅 The gallery was pretty empty, so we had plenty of space to take photos, especially in the stunning red room installation—super Instagram-worthy! 📸✨ For the rest of the exhibition, take your time to absorb the depth of Shiota’s performance art and conceptual works. Her pieces reflect on themes like World War II and her personal journey through ovarian cancer. The more you learn about her background, the more emotionally moving the experience becomes. 💭❤️ The tickets are very affordable, and the whole visit—including photo time—only took a little over an hour. Highly recommend adding this to your New York City walk itinerary! 👣🗽 Don’t forget to share your own photos and tag #JapanSocietyNYC—we’d love to see your favorite moments! 🎨💖 #WeekendInNYC #OffbeatExhibitions #NYCGetaway #ArtExhibitionNYC #ChiharuShiotaNYC #PerformanceArtNYC #NYWeekendFun #NYCExhibition #ImmersiveArt
