White Bird Train Station Rises at the World Trade Center Site
[New York] The World Trade Center site, also known as Ground Zero, commemorates nearly 3,000 victims of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the 2001 9/11 attacks. 🌟 Major structures here include the Memorial Pools, the Museum, and a white bird - shaped train station. As 9/11 was a global event we all experienced, I won't review it here. ✅ The huge white station, Oculus (meaning "eye"), resembles a giant white bird. After 9/11, its design comforted New Yorkers' wounded hearts. 🌟Many said it symbolized hope. Designer Santiago Calatrava uses pure white tones, hand - draws ideas, and hand - makes models, combining biomimicry and mechanical features, giving the building a lifelike quality. ✅ Visit the Memorial Pools, which stand where the Twin Towers once did. Bronze panels around the pools bear the names of the 9/11 victims. 🌟If there's a rose next to a name, it means it was their birthday on that day. Every 9/11, beams of light shoot from the pools into the sky at night. ✅ The newly built World Trade Center towers next to the ruins. #NewYork 🌃🌟
