Why Go to Din Tai Fung When New York Has These Xiao Long Bao? (1)π
After over two years of renovation, Din Tai Fung finally opened in New York! Although it hasn't officially opened yet, reservations are already booked solid through January, and the sign clearly states "no walk-ins." π« π Craving xiao long bao but can't get into Din Tai Fung, I decided to visit its doppelgΓ€nger, Pinch Chinese, which has been a Michelin Bib Gourmand winner for several years. Crab and Pork Soup Dumpling π πΈ These are truly on par with Din Tai Fung. The skin is as thin as paper, and when you bite into them, the juice bursts out. The filling is generous, and while the crab flavor is a bit subtle, they're still quite good overall. Mushroom Dumplings ποΈ The purely vegetarian shiitake and black truffle dumplings were today's best! The aroma of truffle is rich, the skin is thin, and the filling is abundant. Unfortunately, I only managed to get one due to my slow reflexes. π₯Ή #PekingDuck #RoastDuck #NYCRoastDuck ππ
