Finally had the chance to dine at the renowned Deer + Almond! 🌟 It’s one of only three Winnipeg restaurants that made it to Canada’s Top 100 list. We experienced their 4-dish dinner set, a well-curated tasting menu at 💴 $90 per person. Each guest can choose two appetizers, one main course, and one dessert. Appetizer Recommendations: Fanny Bay Oyster 🦪: The topping of baked hollandaise sauce was incredibly rich and flavorful. Charred Cabbage 🥬: The cabbage is roasted until tender and drizzled with lemon miso. The smoky flavor was fantastic, even better than some meats! Main Course Recommendation: Lamb Chop & Cauliflower 🐑: The Italian-style lamb chops were exceptionally tender and delicious. Dessert Recommendations: Peanut Semifreddo: Peanut butter ice cream paired with chocolate cake—truly indulgent! Cedar Custard & Ground Cherries: A unique dessert with a tangy twist, topped with a delightful layer of mushroom and cherry flavors. Overall, the portions were on the smaller side, which made it feel a bit less worth the $90 price tag.
