You don’t need to hike—you can experience all of Pokhara’s highlights
Pokhara, this hidden gem of a town in Nepal, is famous for its countless stunning hiking trails. But for those short on time or who prefer not to hike, like me, you can still soak up all the town’s wonders. In two days, I discovered a side of Pokhara that’s just as amazing. 🎏 My Itinerary: Day1️⃣: Start a relaxed journey from Phewa Lake ■ Morning: Head to Damside Park, the perfect spot to take photos with Pokhara’s iconic landmarks. Snap a shot here, and your s sure to blow up! If you’re lucky, you might even catch the "golden hour" on the snow-capped mountains during sunset.😃 ■ Noon: Move to a lakeside restaurant. Savor local specialties while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Phewa Lake. ■ Afternoon: Rent a boat to cruise Phewa Lake and immerse yourself in the serene lakes and mountains. ■ Evening: Watch the religious ceremony at Barahi Ghat to experience Nepal’s traditional religious culture. ■ Night: Stroll along the lake to admire the sunset glow on the water, then enjoy a candlelit dinner at a lakeside restaurant. With the gentle breeze and rippling water, pure relaxation. Day2️⃣: Chase a sunrise above the clouds😎 ■ 4:30 AM: Head to Sarangkot to watch the sunrise. The Himalayan mountain range glows golden in the morning light—a spectacular sight! ■ After breakfast: Try paragliding or a helicopter ride for a bird’s-eye view of the snow-capped mountains, lakes, and the city. ■ Noon: Find an authentic Nepali restaurant in the city and tuck into a traditional Dal Bhat (Nepali set meal). ■ Afternoon: Dive into Pokhara’s Old Town, browse the diverse shops, and pick up a few Nepali-style handicrafts. 💡 Useful Tips:😃 If you’re short on time, skip staying in the mountains. Choose accommodation near Phewa Lake for easy access to lake views, sightseeing, and dining. The restaurants and resorts near Sarangkot Viewpoint are fantastic—their views are top-notch. Try to include them in your plans when researching! The best time to boat on Phewa Lake is 2 hours before sunset, when the light is soft and the scenery is most pleasant. #OffTheBeatenPathExperiences #CulturalHiddenGems #TravelLikeALocal #MyHiddenTravelGuide #PokharaTravel #Nepal #NepalTravel #Pokhara
