Find Things to DoFind The Best Restaurants

You must visit when in Paris! 🌉✨

Coming to Paris, I was eager to taste the authentic corner bistros, craving some classic onion soup and beef tartare. 😉🍴 This place comes highly recommended by the locals. My dad told me the restaurant is named after the great writer Voltaire! When I went there, I found out that the restaurant is actually housed in the building where Voltaire spent the last days of his life in Paris, passing away here in 1778. I didn't expect to dine and also visit a historical residence in one go! 🫡🏠 The ambiance is excellent, small and exquisitely elegant, very French. Located at 27 Quai Voltaire, it's right across from the Seine River and the Louvre. On a weekday lunchtime, it's packed with people dressed to the nines, complemented by retro French interiors and vintage dinnerware. Dining here was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate! 😆🎨 We ordered some classic French bistro dishes. 🙌 ▫️Amuse Bouche was fresh vegetables with a salad dressing, healthy and light, surprisingly appetizing. 👌 Plus a plate of salad with egg and mayonnaise. ▪️The appetizer, onion soup, had a hint of sweetness. The endive salad with blue cheese was so French! Healthy and refreshing. 👌 There was also the classic foie gras, yes, it was creamy and delicious! ▫️For the main course, the must-try beef tartare was seasoned really well! The accompanying thin fries are the soul of French bistros, paired with French mustard sauce. 😍😘 Even though eating beef tartare always feels like I'm eating a plate of dumpling filling, I crave this dish every time I'm in Paris! The roasted lamb chops were slightly rare but the sauce was great, especially the side dish of Provençal vegetables, tomatoes, eggplants, and zucchinis, thinly sliced and stacked with meat juices, omo it was too delicious! The fish of the day was just right, a normal performance. 👌 ▪️Since we were too full, we skipped the dessert course and just had coffee to finish. The coffee came with a complimentary butter cookie, which was quite rich and sweet. #LocalFoodRecommendations #ParisFood #ParisFoodExploration
