Yufuin (also known as Yufuin Onsen) is located in Oita Prefecture, Kyushu, Japan. It's the inspiration source for the animation master Hayao Miyazaki when he created My Neighbor Totoro, a hot spring town filled with fairy tale colors ♨️. 🚄 Transportation: From Hakata Station to Yufuin Station, take the Limited Express Yufuin no Mori 【Yufuin Forest】. There are sweets 🍮 and drinks 🍸 for sale on board, and a viewing carriage for enjoying the scenery. There's also a photo 📷 service to better feel the vacation atmosphere. 🗺️ Travel Route: Yufuin Station ➡️ Yufuin Street ➡️ Donguri no Mori ➡️ Yufuin Floral Village ➡️ Kinrin Lake From the station front street, you can see the famous peak, Yufu Mountain ⛰️. Walking along the street leads all the way to Kinrin Lake, with traditional Japanese buildings on both sides. There are various local specialty shops, including variety stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and souvenir stores where you can leisurely shop and eat. ➡️ Donguri no Mori Yufu Store: Totoro specialty store 📷, a must-visit spot to take photos with Totoro. ➡️ YUFUIN FLORAL VILLAGE (Fairy Tale Town): An immersive fairy tale street where many scenes from Miyazaki's movies like Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro appear. You can also get up close with many small animals from fairy tale books. Although not large in scale, it's very photogenic. ➡️ Kinrin Lake: Surrounded by the foothills of Yufu Mountain, with beautiful lake and mountain views. There is a wooden walkway around the lake, and walking along it is very pleasant. It's a famous place for maple viewing 🍁, and in autumn, the scenery is truly picturesque. #MyHiddenTravelRoute #OffTheBeatenPath #NotesInspiration #JapanAutumnLeaves #JapanTravelGuide #JapanStrollingGuide #KyushuJapan
