📍 Zion National Park | Ultimate Guide 🥾🗺️
🎫 Before You Go • Shuttle Season: Around May–November each year, private cars are not allowed on Zion Canyon Scenic Drive. You must take the Shuttle Bus. 🚌 • Shuttle Routes: 1. Zion Canyon Line (between scenic spots) 2. Springdale Line (town ↔ Visitor Center) • Tickets: Free! No reservation needed. Shuttles run every 10–15 minutes. 🚗 Transportation & Parking • I stayed at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort – about a 45-minute drive to the Visitor Center. • Visitor Center parking is limited and fills up quickly during peak season. Paid parking in town is a good alternative. • The shuttle from the Visitor Center to The Narrows takes about 45 minutes. ⚠️ Heads-Up • Ponderosa Ranch is quite far from the park entrance – the back-and-forth takes time. At $100/day with shared bathrooms/showers, it’s pricey, but the resort does have sports facilities you can use. • EV drivers note: The park only has Destination Chargers (no Superchargers). ⚡ 🥾 Recommended Hiking Trails • Angel’s Landing Trail (4.3 miles / ~6.9 km Elevation gain: ~557m Out & back) Zion’s iconic route! The final chain-assisted section is thrilling and offers epic views. A permit is required – apply online via lottery. • Floating Rock via Zion Narrows Riverside Walk (5.4 miles / ~8.7 km Elevation gain: ~142m Out & back) Hike upstream along the North Fork Virgin River – unique canyon scenery and a refreshing water adventure! 💦 🍴 Supplies in Town • Sol Foods Supermarket: The main grocery store in town. Has ready-to-eat meals, fruits, and snacks, but prices are higher than average – a rotisserie chicken costs around $15. • Recommendation: Their build-your-own salad bar ($10.99/lb) is fresh and tasty, though a bit pricey. 💡 My Take • The park map is super clear – it includes shuttle schedules and a hiking guide, so planning your route and timing is easy. • The setup reminded me of Jiuzhaigou Valley: one main entrance, unified transport, and hop-off access to attractions along the way.
