An excellent experience for food but be ready to burn thru your pocket for it. Roti made in house freshly is good but needs improvement. Crunchy yes but not flaky and is quite doughy and thick so it fills you up given the pricing but would prefer light, chewy, fluffy and flaky. Nonetheless a great effort. Satay was very nice but probably too sweet for a savory dish given the sweetness of the peanut sauce. I would offer the option for spice level in the satay sauce. For $18 and 6 sticks of satay i would expect ketupat as well for the full authentic experience. Cendol was excellent but again for $8 i would suggest smaller size for smaller price otherwise make it look like an ice kacang with a tower of ice on a bed of cendol sweet corn and red bean. We also had the curry laksa and nasi lemak with fried chicken. Both were good but cucumbers were not fresh n crunchy, onions need to be purple so its not so spicy. Plenty of sambal with nasi lemak n santan infused rice so a definite plus. Curry laksa is not penang style but definitely curry related given the generous curry leaves discovered. Also the free pampadums were a nice touch. Look i appreciate the price of ingredients and the labor of love but try to make it more commercial cooking and it will help improve your margins so you can lower prices too. Your audience would appreciate it. More catering gigs would help you get your name out there e.g. "Indulgence" on Facebook. Will be back for more to try a few more things on the menu and thank you for bringing some authentic Malaysian food...
Read moreHaving recently moved to the area we decided to give this place another try. There's no denying that they have one of the better nasi lemak and laksa in town. And that sambal - I'd suggest that you bottle it up but you already have! Although I still find their menu prices slightly appaling (sorry guys), I would drop by and splurge on a good bowl of laksa served with a perfectly charred, juicy chicken leg and a flavour bomb of a sambal as its worth it! I'd still have roti elsewhere though. :P Oh and the coffee is delicious too, but is it just me or does the paper straw leave a weird after taste? Keep up the good work guys!
Been here twice and the food is authentically Malaysian. It is quite expensive for what you get though but they definitely do a good ayam penyet and beef rendang. However the roti at mamak corner in the city is better and more reasonably priced. Service was a bit slow too. Not sure if we'll be back here due to the price unless we're really craving for ayam penyet. Note beef rendang was $17 a serve (vs less than $15 at Nanyang and Paparich) and a side of curry(quite thin!)...
Read moreHad an unplanned dinner at this place last night.. was meant to go to sushi gallery (next door) but it was packed. Safe to say, I am very glad that Sushi Gallery was packed and I found this place. The signboard is rather inconspicuous and you wouldn’t know what it meant unless you are a Malaysian.
Menu was limited but why bother expanding your menu when they probably serve one of the best Nasi Lemak in town! They serve very authentic Malaysian dishes. Their cendol is as authentic as it gets, almost felt like I was sitting under the tree having it back in Malaysia (minus that plate of rojak). The Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng was almost as good as the one in Village Nasi Lemak in Damansara Jaya; probably would be better if they could add more rempah crumbs.
Price is slightly higher but you do get what you pay for. The food speaks for itself. Definitely coming back for more!
Hint hint: Would love to have a good place of Pan Mee...
