In all honesty, the food there is incredible and generally the staff is amazing. However, of late there seems to be one that brings down the atmosphere of the entire place, including the mood of their peers. And this is just from someone who is observing. I got her name the other night and I believe it to be Karen.
These are just a few of the things that I have noticed the are very disappointing to see from a team member working at such a nice place: Standing around talking to peers while they are trying to work Slightly adjusting items to look busy when there are clearly other more productive ways to be helping There were about 10 customers waiting to be served with only one person on till as the other was preparing cocktails and delivering them to tables as the person on floor was ābusyā slightly adjusting items. Really doesnāt seem to care about assisting the rest of the team resulting in exhausted workers and annoyed customers. Overheard remarks made to peers stating she does not need to assist them with bar tasks as she is only a floor worker (this is definitely NOT want you want to hear a member of a TEAM saying) Making remarks to customers such as āyou better hurry up and eat or your food will get coldā as though they are children Literally sitting down at the large picnic table while obviously not on any break and just looking around at the venue which is SUPER unprofessional and a horrible image to be portraying to customers. Overall seems like a useless team member just from observing and definitely think the team and establishment would be better off without her. You wouldnāt even need to hire a new team member because she is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a local, I really want to love Dapper and Weaver. Itās super convenient for me, and I give them bonus points for being dog-friendly. However, their outdoor seating area does suffer in summer due to the heatāsomething outside their control, but still a consideration.
Unfortunately, my recent experiences here have left me disappointed. Iāve noticed some newer staff behind the bar who come across as unfriendly. As a red wine drinker, itās frustrating when wine is stored outside of a fridge, especially in 30°-40° weather. Room temperature for wine is not 37°! While I understand not every bar has a wine fridge, Iād expect some effort to keep the wine cool in such conditions. Iāve resorted to adding an ice cube, which isnāt ideal, but what really bothers me is the attitude Iāve received when asking how recently a bottle has been opened. This is a fair question to ensure Iām getting a fresh pourāespecially when the wine isnāt stored properly. I donāt think itās unreasonable, and the dismissive bordering on rude attitude makes it worse.
As for the food, itās unfortunately pretty average. Edible, but often overly salty and greasy. I requested a minor change to menu item recently, which was declined due to ābeing busyā or āpre-preparationāādespite the fact there were very few customers in the restaurant. I get that not every place can accommodate changes, but when you add that to the challenges I have mentioned, things starts to add.
Again, As a local, I want this business to succeed, but at this stage, I wonāt be returning for meals. I might stop by occasionally for a glass of wine and ice cube spiked with some...
