Uncle Don’s South City SQ cooked every single element perfectly so much so I thought I was in a fine dining restaurant rather than a casual bistro. The edamame was deliciously seasoned and chared, the gyoza steamed and served with the perfect dipping source and the flavour that flowed from the crust cauliflower was delightful. For the mains, I ordered the traditional chicken katsu chicken which was cooked with a crispy crumb and sumptuous chicken and egg, my partner got the katsu duck and those brussel sprouts almost outshone the protein. As our entree and main was so good, we backed it up with dessert too, to see if we could level up and we’re not disappointed with the matcha tiramisu and the black sesame gelato with the delicious semifredo and berries.

So glad we gave uncle don a go, the food far surpasses the ambience...

The worst service I have ever received. Orders took 1hr+ to come to the table. The entire staff wernt even sure if what they were serving us was right or wrong. We had a big group booking and they brought us an extra dish we wernt aware of and blamed us for their mistake. In addition the food was just dropped off at one end of the table and we just passed along the food instead of serving it to the person who ordered it.

We are completely offended by your untrained staff and their inability to accept their own mistakes! We ended up paying for extra dishes we were served but find it absolutely crap we didnt even recieve an apology

Next time, confirm orders with us if you are unsure instead of blindly serving the food an expecting us to know what...

Very disappointing experience. First, due to a system error, our order wasn’t placed and we waited half an hour without anyone checking. After reordering, simple dishes like salmon don, beef don, and sashimi still took over another half-hour to arrive. During the wait, they even served our food to the wrong table. They also forgot our eggplant dish — if I hadn’t asked, they would have closed without noticing. The food was very average, definitely not worth such a long wait. For such simple dishes, the service was unbelievably slow. I understand the staff were busy, but many basic details were poorly handled. If they can’t even manage the tables outside properly, they shouldn’t set up so many. They really need more staff. Not worth visiting. I won’t be...
