Getting into this place was difficult enough with a very rude person on the door. I walked out in tears so I could figure out how to get my wife's licence without having to go back to our accommodation to get it, as we were told in no uncertain terms that she couldn't enter the club without her Drivers Licence or photo ID if she was over 18, even though we were only going for a meal and had already checked-in via the Service NSW app. No other club we've been to in the last year (and we've been to lots) makes you do both if you're only getting a meal. You generally only need to do the Service NSW app check in, as all your details are included and your Drivers Licence is linked to it. So, I guess I can understand if it's your policy (no choice really), but I've never been spoken to so rudely in all my life. There was another older gentleman who walked in after us with his wife and I heard him say to the same woman that he had never been spoken to so rudely before. He ended up asking to speak to the manager as he didn't appreciate the rudeness either, so it wasn't just our group.
There is also a new electronic ordering system in the bistro section and this was also a bit haphazard, but I can forgive that, as there are often problems with a new system and the staff told us today was the first day. I'm sure in time it will improve. A lot of people who I assumed are regulars were complaining, but they will just need to adapt to the changes and in time all will likely run smoothly.
We are on holidays up here and it's our last day. We wanted to try out your club, as I have been there a lot in my younger years and was raving about it to our friends who came with us today. Sadly, it was not a very good experience and was very disappointing.
Customer service is the number 1 priority in any business and if your door person is the first person who interacts with patrons, they should be able to easily get along with people and give instructions with at least a modicum of civility in their tone of voice. The whole CovidSafe requirement makes it harder for anyone, but I can't even imagine how the elderly are coping. Take the time to be kind and help them, not be rude to them. I'll get over it, but that poor man who came in after us may not.
This is just some constructive criticism for you and I hope you will take it onboard.
Having said all of that, I will finish off with a positive. We all enjoyed our food. It was very nice and reasonably priced. This is the reason I have given 3 stars instead of only 1 or 2. You gained some stars for...
Read moreVisited here in our road trip down to Sydney. Great staff at reception and the bar, and looked like a clean well maintained club, I was wearing a singlet so the reception staff even lent me a shirt as it’s club requirement, thanks so much! 😄 We went here for lunch and after checking out the a Thai (I think it was) restaurant we decided on the bistro area, and what a mistake and complete disappointment that was. The lady who took our order must of been having a BAD day, talk about freaking rude. And all the staff in the kitchen which is very publicly visible looked like they would rather be anywhere else. Anyway, I wasted almost $40 on the pork ribs which were dry and there was more sauce on the plate than ribs, and accompanied by about 10 chips and a salad with gross salad dressing, waste of $40, and my partner got the special of the day and it was special alright, another complete waste of money. They were not busy at all, don’t know if the kitchen were just having a bad day but we honestly just felt uncomfortable so we just left the meals and went to another place for lunch, honestly, that restaurant, ruined the whole place for us and will...

Why three stars? ⭐️ One for the friendly staff. ⭐️ Another for the great food. ⭐️ A third for the great facilities.
Why did they lose two stars? Because we could not stay and enjoy the live music. Security effectively kicked us out because we had a 10 year old and a 17 year old and the live music was in a bar with people drinking. We tried to stand were we weren’t in the bar anymore and they still kicked us out. We were offered the choice to go watch football but that not why we were there. So we were ejected.
Secondly, you cannot enter without being subjected to the view of poker machines. One room on the way into the servery and a second when using the amenities.
All staff were polite and the food great but call me old fashioned but I think Foster RSL should be truly a family venue where you can go with your kids and enjoy yourself past 8pm. Yes, we have RSA requirements but these allow for venues to cater for people under 18 where as Club Foster isn’t really a club but an Adults only venue with...
