It’s the perfect backdrop for today’s hardworking influencers or the playground for the rich and famous. Positioned on re-claimed water in the harbour, La Luna Dining at the Marina Mirage has an impressive entrance as you walk through two plunge pools in the centre of the restaurant to take your table seats. At the back of the restaurant is a glass wall that overlooks super yachts, jet skiers and helicopter transport coming in and out of the Gold Coast.
Inside the restaurant there’s hosts, wait staff, bar staff, a resident DJ and an accompanying saxophonist to ensure your experience is just perfect.
And yet, the ambiance only plays second fiddle to the restaurant’s fine Mediterranean seafood cuisine. For starters is your choice of fresh oysters and there’s kingfish and scallops. The big hit at our table was the seafood cocktail which was the choice of either lobster, Morton Bay bugs, prawns or a mix of all.
Also popular at our table was the prawn and lobster infused with pink pepper risotto and dish was a chicken breast with chargrilled mushroom, capsicum and baby cornichons which was served with a parmesan cheese disk on top. The sauce was an exquisite tomato, olives and capers based tapenade. Just perfect to dip your side of shoestring truffle fries into.
And rarely do I order dessert but it was impossible to go past the special of the day as told to you by the wait staff with the most divine French international accent: a creme caramel topped with a strawberry marmalade and “zucchero filato” (or fairy floss). I’ll have two!
It’s not cheap and nor should it be but well worth the experience. With an extensive cocktail and wine selection this is the perfect place was long...
Read moreBefore our dinner, we enjoyed some delicious drinks poolside and watched the sunset. We were looked after by Steve and he really made every aspect of our experience incredible. From his extensive knowledge of the drinks list to offering to take photos of us in front of the famous La Luna moon. Despite the restaurant being booked out, me truly made us feel like we were the only people there!
From our pre dinner drinks, we were escorted by Steve up to the main La Luna restaurant and I have to say that it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, Lucy made us feel incredibly welcome and went above and beyond to ensure that our evening was thoroughly enjoyable.
The food was with busting with flavour. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a verrrrrry long time on the Gold Coast. The drinks were delicious and the entire dining experience was truly something special.
But what really set this restaurant apart was the way that they helped us celebrate our engagement. Lucy was incredibly kind and thoughtful, taking the time to make us feel truly special and going out of her way to ensure that we had a night to remember.
Overall, I cannot recommend La Luna highly enough. If you're looking for incredible food, expertly prepared drinks, and a truly exceptional dining experience, this is the place to be. And if you're lucky enough to have Lucy as your server, you can rest assured that you're in for a night that you'll never forget. Thank you for making our evening so special.
Patrick, you have crafted a team of passionate, professional and vibrant staff who truly LOVE what the do. We cannot thank you enough. This is EXACTLY what the Gold...
Read morePrior to arriving at the restaurant, we checked availability online and saw that multiple booking slots were open. Since we were only ten minutes away, we decided to head over as walk-ins, expecting it wouldn’t be an issue.
Upon arrival, we waited to be acknowledged, but were overlooked until another group entered after us. At that point, an older gentleman approached, and I politely asked for a table for two. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, he paused, looked at us, and curtly stated that the venue was fully booked. His tone and demeanor came across as dismissive and judgmental. Given what we had just seen online—and the visibly empty dining room—we initially thought he was joking. After a brief exchange, it became clear he was not, and he proceeded to speak to us in an unwelcoming and rude manner.
We were dressed neatly and appropriate nothing extravagant, but certainly presentable. As someone who has previously owned and operated hospitality venues and has worked closely with many businesses in the industry, I was shocked and disappointed by the experience. There is no mention of a dress code on the website, nor was one prominently displayed at the venue.
What was supposed to be an enjoyable visit quickly turned into a frustrating and disheartening experience. To be refused service without clear cause and in such an unprofessional manner was deeply disappointing. Whether the decision was based on personal bias or another reason, it very disrespect-able.
We chose to take our business elsewhere and ended up dining at Moo Moo in Broadbeach, where we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed...
