Sunset Waterfront Grill — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Food was amazing! Service was a bit eh.

We came here for my friends birthday, the lady who we spoke to first was so lovely. Told us where we could sit so we wanted to sit down to look out at the water front. As we were walking towards where we wanted to sit another person came over, a much older gentlemen. He told us not to sit down there saying it was much too wet which we understood and we were fine with because we wanted the view. But he very much insisted and told us it was because he didn't want to run our food out in the rain. Fair enough so we sat where he asked us to! The lady came over again and she spoke to us about everything, took our drinks order and they were very quick and super friendly. The older gentlemen came back and took our food order, I asked him for no beetroot which he proceeded to make fun of me being unaustralian (which is fine too I understand its his sense of humour). When he brought my food out it still had beetroot on it even though I asked him about it and he made fun of me for it, he tried taking the plate off me to rectify it but I told him it's fine I'll take them off. Like I said not a big deal but he wasn't just as friendly as he could of been.

Disgusted by what seemed to have been the manager, the way he spoke to us before we had even sat down to order! Myself, Partner and Child had arrived where a sign says table service (NOT WAIT TO BE SEATED SIGN) so we walked to a table in the shade about to sit down when the bloke pretty much pushed us away and told us to sit away from here cause thats a 6 seater table and 'i dont want you to sit at a table of 6 so no point you sitting there' and pretty much shoved us over by pointing to a table that only just had people move away from so not even set way away from where we wanted to sit so off we went where he slammed down menus and pointed to a nice young fella saying he will take our order. We where then pissed off cause next thing we know he lets 3 people sit on that table we had originally wanted. So we left before even ordering food. We will not be coming back at all by the lack of manners. Maybe instead of pushing customers away perhaps have a wait to be seated sign up so you can segerate your...

Very good room. Very poor amenities ( no body lotion, no cotonetes, just one tooth brush, no shower cap). We booked a Lagoon view but due to the upgrade we were moved to a suite with no Lagoon view at all. Better room but.. No view! We were ok with it as we thought no noise from the children around the lagoon/ swimming pool. We come here almost every year at the same time...I was disappointed. More expensive for less. We found the restaurants and the bar expensive. We think, comparing with last year and although the hotel was fully booked, the club was empty, the bar was empty... Maybe too expensive?? We Can walk and in five minutes everything is almost half the price!!! It was my husband birthday and I mentioned it at reception but no one even send him just a postcard or acknowledged it in any way. We are platinum ambassador in intercontinental so.. Just...
