The atmosphere is cost and intimate without being too loud. Music is present without dominating. Fans are whisper quiet but cool the room enough to be very comfortable with a full house. Perfect for dinners 5 stars

All wait staff were happy charming and energetic. It felt very enjoyable to receive the food tasting descriptions and all service was prompt or timely in a way that things moved without feeling hurried or pressured, but at the right time. 5 stars

The food was incredible. The 75 dollar pp tasting experience was amazing. I have paid hundreds for a comparable experience. Best value tasting experience ice ever had. The kingfish sashimi with jalapeno and miso base (unsure of the menu name) was a strong and bold start. The dried beef brealoa was something I had never tried before and the flavour profile was interesting and not what I would expect from a beef dish but followed up the kingfish perfectly. The crispy pork belly was hearty and a great way to round out the previous menu items. The tiramisu was the BEST TIRAMISU I HAVE HAD IN MY LIFE and I've had like 30 or 40 different tiramisu.

In summary this place is absolutely worth going to. If I lived in Brisbane I would drive the hour and half to Burleigh just to have dinner here once a month.

Absolutely...

Where to start, really? I have been very lucky to travel a lot over the years and dine in a broad range of highly acclaimed restaurants around the world, benefit from the generous hospitality of many in the wine and food space plus enjoy the food culture of different countries.

Put simply, this is one of those dining experiences that warms your heart, where there is a very real and authentic conversion of passion to plate. There is not one genre of food here, but an amalgamation of Asian / Middle Eastern / Western influences that have clearly resonated with Gaynor and Olivia’s experiences, and who now feel the need to share this with you.

I won’t go over the details of the dishes, but would simply say the flavours were articulate, clean and utterly superb. There is a deliberate humbleness and authenticity to how they are presented but this in no way detracts from the experience, but instead enhances it.

I am so glad we stumbled upon The Little Plate but regret we didn’t find it earlier in our trip as would have dined there every night…it...

"My compliments to the chef...And now I find myself in the extraordinary position of having my waiter be the chef..." (Ratatoullie). Never thought we would experience such a delightful moment, enjoying the night, chatting away with our hosts, hearing their passion and only realising they were also our chefs when we started talking food prep.

My wife and I only happened upon The Little Plate as we're exploring around our accommodation, and what a lucky find it was!

Tucked away from the main highway, the venue was pleasantly cosy, the food spectacular and our hosts, Gaynor & Olivia, friendly and so accomodating. We had our eyes on so many items on their menu, and after selection, they were kind enough to inform us we had unintentionally doubled up (the salad was also a side for another dish). A quick recommendation and swap later, we were happily enjoying another great dish we were keen to try.

A wonderful dinner to round out one of the last nights of our Honeymoon. Will definitely be back next time we find ourselves on...

When we came to Burleigh we wanted to avoid spots with amazing views & mediocre food. We wanted a locals spot with high quality dishes. The little plate is a perfect representation of that desire. Such a quaint little restaurant with maybe 10 tables, ensuring the quality of every dish served. The seafood is spectacular! Smokey Bay oysters to start & they might have been the best & freshest ever. Followed up with incredible scallops & the big surprise was the White anchovy toast, it doesn’t sound all that interesting but the complexity of the ingredients & the expert combination of these made it a table favorite. We went for the Cypriot lamb ribs next & they were very tasty but the real stand out main was the Bay Bug & prawn pasta. Perfectly prepared spaghetti & the bugs were next level. The service was super friendly & a constant stream of locals turning up kept the vibe on point. So if like us you want to get in touch with the local real deal places, please check out the lovely & talented ladies at The Little Plate.
