Well you certainly could not call this place a desirable location. Turned up to an absolute rabble sitting right outside the front door swearing and shouting, got to enjoy the constant noise of this group for the next half hour with the front door left wide open. Then had the pleasure of two men swearing and carrying on at the bar. Pity one of the many staff could not see it fit to ask people to mind their language in a public place.
To top it off the bar person stated the establishment had no sparkling white (bubbles) left.
Our party was booked for dinner and were shown to our table by an unbelievably uninterested staff member. Seriously this is the hospitality industry - if you don't want to be hospitable get another job!
We were then asked for our drinks order, and the bottle of white wine was simply plonked on the table, no offer to open it or heaven forbid pour it for us! To top it off we were also advised the single glass of red wine we were given was the last one in the establishment. What a joke no bubbles and no red wine!
The waitress who took our food order was fantastic and did a great job explaining the offerings of the menu. The food took a rather long time to come out - approx 45 minutes, however was of a good quality when it arrived.
The most annoying factor on the night was the staff member in pants and a hoodie who would occasionally stroll to our table, both hands in her pockets and ask how the meal was etc. Come on - its a restaurant, take your hands out of your pockets, probably dress in something other than a hoodie, and act even a little interested.
To top it off the heating was turned off very early in the night, not so good in the hills with all occupied tables being along the window line, clearly hoping to clear the place out so the staff could get home early
Our whole party left very disappointed - this establishment charges premium restaurant prices, is out of stock of bubbles and red wine and employs mainly disinterested staff wearing hoodies walking around with their hands in their pockets; seriously any fast food establishment has a better dress code for staff and display more hospitality.
Do yourself a favour and head somewhere else, where they have wine in stock and likely the staff and management actually...
Read moreWhat a gorgeous venue for a wedding. The garden setting was beautiful, every wedding days dream. Unfortunately thats where the beauty of the venue finished. After the ceremony, proceedings of photos and hearing who was needed for photos was interrupted by loud music from the inn. We then had nibbles in the garden setting. The platter was lovely but there was nothing to dish it up with, a jar of salad but unable to get it out unless you tipped it up. Definitely finger food because thats all there was to use. Dressed salad on a serviette wasnt the best idea. Several guests complained at the price of drinks, $9 for 3 mouthfuls of wine. Once it was time to go in for the reception, things didnt improve unfortunately. This was 6pm. There was hardly any seats, needing to ask for more tables, seats and stools. It had been advised to venue and kitchen that there was special dietary needing to be catered for, when booking the venue. Cocktail food was being bought around. I asked the waitress if the canapes were vegan in which she said it was. I asked again if there was dairy products in the cheese because I was highly allergic to dairy. A member of the bridal party had questioned her too. She then said she would check with kitchen. After sometime she came back to say it was the wrong canapes but did not bring the right one. By around 8pm, with no food suitable to dietary needs, some cold rolls came out that I could eat. I took 2 and they were very nice. That was the only food I got to eat as there was nothing else suitable despite regularly asking. We were avoided by the waiting staff, despite others being with us that could have the food being bought out. Several times we had to grab it off the platters to get food to guests. The guests started leaving from about 8.30. A big paddle of sliders were bought out, approx 50 on the paddle, just before 9pm. At 9.20 2 big bowls of meatballs was put on the table. By this stage there was less than half of the guests and bridal party left. It is a beautiful venue, but time management with functions and catering to all guests dietary needs need major...
Read moreMy wife booked us in for Father’s Day today and unfortunately the trouble started at the front door. We were almost told we didn’t have a booking despite having paid a deposit and then it was realised the booking was made under a different name.
We sat down and the decor was nice as well as the ambience and the fire nearby. A waiter came and brought my dad’s drink that he’d ordered already and then we waited a long time until I flagged down someone to order my family’s drinks and by then we’d worked out our mains. Unfortunately that’s when the biggest issue started.
I ordered a paddle, naming a number of beers I liked. The waiter just agreed. Five minutes later I’d come back from taking my daughter to the toilet and the waiter explains that those beers aren’t available for the paddle, and when I reordered, they came back yet again to say that two of the beers I’d ordered weren’t available!
Worse still, after finally getting all of our drinks, the waiter brings the food, two meals of which weren’t even the right meal and had to be taken away and a new one made and one meal completely non-existent. By chance I decided to ask why my daughter’s toastie hadn’t arrived and a waiter came back to say that it was only available in the After Hours menu (which it says on the menu, but my wife specifically asked if it was okay to make one for our daughter, and hey, it’s a bloody toastie, and the waiter said it was fine).
The food in the end was very good, but by that stage I was over it and we supposedly had to leave anyway because the sitting times are way too short, but I wouldn’t have wanted to spend any more money...
