I’m not sure what has happened to this place but it is nothing compared to the way it was in the past. We have celebrated milestone birthdays, anniversaries and other occasions at Heisenberg over the years but today we were completely disgusted at the lack of customer service. We’re pretty sure it’s new owners who have turned this once much loved restaurant into a place we won’t be coming back to.
We attended a function in the VIP room for my mother’s retirement at 12pm on a Saturday. No where on the website (I’ve gone back and checked) or at the time of booking was anyone informed of a time limit of only 2 hours before we had to vacate the premises. We were waiting on some guests to arrive when we were informed by a rude older lady (assuming the owner or manager) that we had to order asap because she had two other large groups booked in at the same time as us. When we said that we would wait for everyone she left in a huff. We obviously waited for everyone to arrive before ordering, it was only 12:30 by then.
At about 1:30, while we were still finishing our meals and some other guests had ordered some more drinks, a waiter arrived and announced that we had 20 minutes left. This was the first we knew of this. We said we hadn’t been told there was a time limit when we booked or arrived. He left and came back a few minutes later and said he’d checked with the manager and that she said she told us when we booked and when we arrived, which wasn’t true.
It might be time to work on customer service. Arguing with customers who simply want clarification or an apology is not professional. Even when we were paying at the end, the manager/owner continued to argue her point and make out that we had been told. Rather then saying we had to leave, you would have made a lot more money if you had simply asked us to sit outside in the garden, where we would have continued to spend money on drinks. We moved on and the party continued down the road at Pumpyard.
We won’t be back, which is sad to say after such a long relationship with...
Read moreWent there tonight on friday night 5pm. Start from the drink that I choose paulaner (light but crisp and bitter) and my husband spaten (tried a sip and its go down so smooth). For the food, our starter is cheese and bacon dip which is not great but okay. More to small portion starter for this one. My husband and I expected to more bigger portions for the price. But na na na. Taste good but nothing special. The main course we both choose pork knuckles. A bit worry since we dont pre order it, it will not available. But then we worry for nothing. Portion is generous, we pay what we get. So we aren't disappointed. Like the crackles. The meat is so tender. Love both the sauce and sauerkraut. I add a spicy wurst as an extra but didn't enjoy it. When I check the middle of the wurst, it's still red. I guess it's how you prefer your food being cook, different person different taste. The staff is good, one mature lady behind the counter is a bit sulky. Tried to call some waitress to add some more beers and she saw us, she asked younger waitresses to serve us with her look. Doesnt smile or anything, just seems frustrated. Maybe having trouble with not reaching some customer that made a booking but not coming. Who knows. Despite her for wearing a mask, I can tell that she isnt smiling. In price perspective I also need to consider the ambiance that this place tried to achieve. The decorations and vibes is great. Overall our experience is good. If you ask me will I come back here, probably is. For special occasions we will probably get back here. But not for our regular...
Read moreWell Kim and I went to Heisenburg Haus for some dinner tonignt. We had the Sauerkraut Balls for dinner which I must say were very nice. As for the rest we were terribly disappointed, the side disheshes needed a lot of love and attention. Kim had the mixed vegetables they were uncooked, practically raw. We think they just had boiled water poured over them to make them warm, there was no herbs or even just a little butter to make them a little more tasty. I had the fried potato, they were a little mushy and just luke warm, with a few strands of onion and finely diced bacon, 6 very small pieces infact. Maybe we are harsh when it comes to the food as we are reasonably good cooks. The service on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired, the waiter who served us approached and said, "g'day what would yoy like?". Instead of "Hello how are? How can I help you?". We orded a drink and our meals, the drinks came out, the wine glass only had less than a quarter in it which cost as much as bottle of wine, and my drink was fine. The meal arrived shortly after, and that was it, no one approached us again, no-one asked if our meal was fine, and no-one offered us another drink. We spoke to the waitress when paying and she simply said sorry about that. We felt that our complaint fell on deaf ears she did even ask how she could make our experience better. I can honestly say we won't go back and I would not recommed them to any one. Above I have one star, but I think that is being to generous especially in view of the service and...
