Darbaar Indian Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Kingscliff

We recently visited Darbaar Indian Restaurant at Salt Beach (Kingscliff), and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with beautiful decor and comfortable seating.

The service was excellent, and the staff were very attentive and friendly. They helped us select dishes from the menu and were happy to accommodate any special requests we had. We had a brief conversation with the owner, who shared with us the restaurant's history and gave us insight into the sourcing and usage of their ingredients.

Now, let's talk about the food - it was absolutely delicious! Every dish was bursting with flavor and spices that were perfectly balanced. The Butter Chicken & Lamb Roganjosh were mouth-watering and it was cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender and the sauce was creamy and flavorful. We also tried the naan breads which was freshly baked and the perfect accompaniment to the meal. Cocktails were also great!

If I could rate it higher , I would....Yum! Yum! Yum! – absolutely Delicious! During our four-day stay at Matra next door, we had the pleasure of dining at Darbaar Restaurant twice. The menu was so enticing that we actually wanted to dine there every night to go through the whole menu, but we felt a bit self-conscious about it 😊.

Overall, I had an amazing experience at Darbaar Indian Restaurant and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious Indian cuisine. My recommendation for the restaurant is so high that I would even consider flying up from Sydney just to dine...

Extremely poor customer service , we have had two bad incidents with this restaurant in the last week The first We were sat next to a very large table , that were extremely loud and had several kids running around the restaurant ,screaming and crying. We approached the manager to see if there was something they could do. Her reply was no sorry unfortunately there is nothing we can do and we’ve also had other several complaints about it. The second We had a booking , when we arrived at the restaurant, the restaurant was closed and there was a sign on the window saying that they were not open for dinner due to flight cancellations of staff. We were not informed by email, call or any other Communications to let us know this prior to our booking time.

A few days later I called up the manager to inform her about this and she was blatantly rude and said there was nothing she can do.

After now reading several reviews we are happy we didn’t end up eating here as they have very bad reviews for Service...

Wow where do I start! This was the best Indian I’ve ever had (if not the best restaurant we’ve ever been to). We started on the Lamb chops, they were succulent, so rich in flavour and so tender. Then we had curry puffs, there was three different dipping sauces, all were divine and matched perfectly with the delicious puffs. The garlic and cheese naan was so soft and fresh but cheesy and went so delicious with the lamb madras we ordered, which was also amazing. The lamb was so soft and tender and the capsicum just made it so balanced and crunchy.. then cheese dumpings in the korma sauce.. it was the highlight, the dumplings were crispy and the sauce was just indescribably delectable. Cannot wait to go back, we will recommend this to all of our friends. Thanks to our lovely waitress Rima, who guided us to make the best decisions while ordering.
