Greenstreat Swan Street — Restaurant in Melbourne

I really enjoyed going to greenstreat in its early days in Richmond but unfortunately the last four occasions I cannot agree.

Today I was in store and ordered a Buddha bowl for my partner, I specifically asked if this meal includes peanuts. I was assured it doesn’t. I am very disappointed that I was not notified that the regular sauce for the Buddha bowl is a spicy peanut dressing. I understand this is written in the menu but would expect a staff member to know this and point it out, assuring that I chose another dressing and also would expect them to note it on the sticker to be extra safe. The sticker says “R” which I’m assuming means regular dressing.

My partner is allergic to peanuts and is feeling unwell since trying the meal. Thank god she isn’t anaphylactic. But I’m writing this because the next person might be. In these situations where it’s something like peanuts or any other serious food allergy it’s not something you can just brush over in training. Staff need to be trained extensively in this area and understand the seriousness.

Ontop of this we recently went in and ordered vegetarian options and as our meal was being prepared the staff were filling up our bowls with meat, we queried and they checked the sticker/order, apologised, and made new orders. I understand these can be small mistakes that can happen but it’s now happened multiple times and they have had throw out the incorrect salads, which is sad.

I recently had lunch at Greenstreat on Swan Street in Richmond and it was a delightful experience. This eatery specializes in salads, and I must say, they truly excel in creating fresh and delicious dishes. All the ingredients in the salads are prepared daily, ensuring maximum freshness. The salads not only looked fresh and crunchy but also tasted incredibly flavorful. I tried a salad loaded with tofu, peanuts, vermicelli, roasted pumpkin, pear, and more - it was a delightful blend of textures and flavors. The dressing was absolutely yummy and complemented the ingredients perfectly.

My husband opted for a pulled pork salad that was equally impressive, packed with a variety of veggies and rice. We were particularly impressed with the selection of warm salads available. The shop itself was impeccably clean, creating a welcoming dining environment.

Furthermore, the staff at Greenstreat were very attentive and accommodating. They were quick to address any dietary requirements, offering lactose-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. This demonstrates their commitment to providing healthy and clean food that caters to a diverse range of dietary needs.

Very disappointed with today’s experience…. I have been to this store everyday for the past few days and ordered Noosa salad quite often because how great it was. However, when I brought my family all the way over from city today, I want to introduce them to this great place, the Noosa salad has been very disappointing. The size of the salad reduced to almost 1/2 of what I had on Monday while I pay the same price , and all the pine nut, almond written on the menu were simply non-existent, the staff member forgot to add all of these in all the three bowls we had.
