Sports bar only. Very good. Food is from the restaurant and very good. Burger was fresh and tasty. Sushimi nachos, not a typo, were brilliant- must try. The Sports bar is a bit small but there is an outside area. Noisy, friendly, mixed crowd , very safe environment even though I didn't see any security. More a place for friends to meet and watch a game rather than groups to arrive to support teams. Good wine list (according to mates) at reasonable prices for a Brighton bar. Cold beer with good selection of tap and bottle beers. Prices are comparable to Bay Street prices (if your a local) Staff are friendly but reasonably new due to covid-19. Happy to chat and learn about the menu. Apparently I was the first to order the Sushimi nachos . The food servers are young but give the area a happy vibe. If you ask about the food and they are unsure they will check and in my instance come back to you within a few minutes. It is all brand new, total renovation just prior to and just after covid-19. Only expected a 2 or 3 star experience but happy to give 4 stars. As a side note if you go..... The pokies area is not good, would be better to make it an extra sports bar but that's an economic choice. Not anti pokies it is just a sad small area.

The Marine Hotel has been renovated, and the former dining area is now split into two - a gaming area and a bar. There is also a restaurant, which we thought we had booked, but were told we were in the bar. Instead of an open, spacious area for dining, tables were pretty crowded by comparison. Instead of chairs, most tables were tall with tall stools. There were TVs at the booths, and all along the walls, showing all sorts of sports (and adverts), with music playing at a reasonable volume. Staff still don't take orders, being bar food and all. And none of the staff that I saw were wearing masks. The Marine Hotel is no longer a place of relaxation, sadly. The place is nothing like it used to be, with minimal food options. Even asking if a dish had onions in it was now not possible, so I've no idea what was in the food I ordered (gluten free ham and pineapple pizza). The meals were pretty bland, judging from what our party said (though the fish and chips were good). The steak was whitish on the inside, which we all found to be very strange, but it apparently tasted okay. There were only two desserts - sticky date pudding, or ice-cream. While we didn't get to eat in the restaurant part, the menu's prices were relatively extensive, and the menu items were much fancier than the options before the renovations. We won't be returning, as this is not what we were wanting at all. ----- This is a large, nice-looking, modern bistro with good food. Meals can be adjusted for people with food intolerances, but not otherwise. The bistro would do better with staff taking orders from the table, but is otherwise good.

On Saturday June 11, 2022 we hosted our daughter's 18th Birthday in 'The Stirling Room' and we received nothing but sterling service all the way! From Lois who showed us around and took our booking, to Sarah who communicated with us about our function, to Ben who helped us set up and Ani, Ella, Stew & Sammii who waited on us on the night - we can only sing their praises! They were all extremely friendly, professional and polite, ensuring that the night went smoothly and without any issues. All of our guests were thrilled with the quality of the food and the quantity! 'The Sterling Room' itself was an amazingly private space that we were able to decorate so beautifully. It was a wonderful night and we would like to thank everyone for making our daughter feel special!

One of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Perfectly cooked tender, medium rare porterhouse w/ mushroom sauce, salad & fries. My dining partner had the seafood linguini that was also fabulous. Most impressed chef 👨🍳 Next Visit: We thought the steak served in the Atrium Bar was fabulous only to be surpassed by the Porterhouse, MS 4+ ‘Jacks Creek’, NSW we enjoyed in their Dining Room. We've loved all the dishes we have tried thus far and hopefully, in time, they will be able to expand their menu. Friendly, helpful staff …. thanks to Ben for looking after us in the dining room, and we look forward to our next visit!

Venue exceeded expectations, the interior is quite modern and clean for something that alluded to being an average local pub. Service was friendly but a bit hit and miss, our drinks never arrived and the parma that I requested as no ham came with. $20 parma and pot Tuesdays is excellent value but given my husband ate his before mine arrived due to the poor attention to detail of the kitchen it wasn’t the greatest experience though I enjoyed the meal and would return

Change of mgt happened last year... this place deserves more .. great location and friendly staff. YMMV. My experience only. it's had some pretty bad reviews on the usual foodie sites.. my experience on the handful of times here is that it's clean, food ok although $$ for a pub meal. and staff are courteous .. shame to see it deserted on the times that I do eat there. humongous dining area and 3 tables during lunch??? wooah!!
