Placed a reservation for 10 people for my birthday dinner. When I arrived they had the table set up along a bench on one side, chairs on the other. One end was hard up against a brick wall so everyone on the bench side would have to get out if anyone else needed to get up. I pointed this out and the waitress moved the table slightly. Not a great start. Then I went to use the bathroom, walked into a hallway where there were Staff Only store rooms wide open and also the door to the kitchen was wide open.
There were 3 staff on. One young man, a young woman and another young man. We waited for 15 minutes before we were offered drinks (there was only one other group of four dining at this time).
We ordered drinks eventually. A favourite of my family to order is sangria. We ordered a litre and asked for 4 glasses. After the wait, it was brought out but with only 2 glasses, not a huge deal. The sangria itself was absolutely woeful. It was pretty much lemonade with a little triple sec in it and served with a lemon slice. Not at all as described in the menu. We asked and we were told that the sangria base is made using lemonade. We ordered fruit tingle fishbowl. What was served was brown and tasted very strange, almost cola like. When bringing this to the attention of the waitress, she informed that it was just premixed that way and always looked brown. We sent that back and got a blue lagoon instead which also wasn’t very nice.
We had to google the menu to find kids meals as they aren’t listed on the restaurant menu - very bizarre.
The food itself was ok except the Mexican rice was dismal. It had frozen peas, carrots and corn in it…. I have never had Mexican rice with peas and carrots and it didn’t taste good at all.
The meals were served very strangely with about 8 minutes between the first person getting theirs to the last - odd seeing as there was no one else in there except the group of four who were already done eating. We had to ask for extra napkins three times before they were handed to us.
All in all, a very disappointing experience for my birthday and I can assure you I won’t be going back there.
3/6/24 UPDATE - So the restaurant replied to my feedback asking me to email them directly, which I did and still have had no response. I can now completely understand the lack of service at the restaurant considering they can't even reply to an email. My star has changed...
Read moreNew opening! Great open plan vibe, outstanding customer service with the standard Mexican staples all can enjoy. So lets break it down:
Average cost pp: $30 with a non-alcoholic drink
Order: Popcorn Prawns, Quesadilla Suprema, Enchilada Grande (Slow Cooked Beef), La Combinacion, Burrito Bowl (Chicken)
Atmosphere: This place has recently been refurbished as this is a new opening. The open plan layout really is bright, inviting, and welcoming. In addition, they do have a few little nooks for an intimate 2-person dinner, but they are limited and probably need to be requested. Was a little quite for a Saturday night, but everyone had a great time.
Customer Service: One word - Superb! We were greeted at the door with a smile, shown to our table and asked for drinks, plus; the table provided complimentary corn chips and medium spicy salsa (delicious) – set up and ready to go! We had a few late arrivals however all three customer service representatives were always understanding, respectful and willing to assist with anything that was needed. Both the Entrée and dinners were prepared and brought out within 10 minutes of the order, excellent. Plates were bussed after about 10 minutes of finishing, and we were asked after the dinner and whether we would like desserts. The service team should be commended – outstanding.
Food (why we are here): Popcorn Prawns – They are just an amazing starter and glad we indulged, a must try! Quesadilla Suprema – Nice but a little plain Enchilada Grande – Great, nice spices and good flavour La Combinacion – Good mix of flavours, one to try if you are unsure about what you want Burrito Bowl – Unfortunately, a little plain
Overall: The customer service was really the standout of this experience, the food was good but unfortunately fell a little flat with a few of us – however; it does measure up to the standard expectation of good Mexican food. You won’t leave feeling disappointed. Well...
Read moreThis is an absolutely delicious Mexican restaurant. We came here for my dad's birthday and we all loved the food - it was delicious! The food was absolute perfection - I mean you can't go wrong with Mexican food. The nachos, tacos and enchiladas were the best, and the chocolate mousse was so delicious - Everyone had clean plates at the end! The service was great - it was quick, speedy and efficient! And the atmosphere was very good - lots of neon lights, inside and outside, and lots of things that you'd see in a Mexican restaurant. So overall, an excellent Mexican restaurant with delicious food, great service and great atmosphere! We will definitely be coming back here in the...
