Marking 4 Start as there is no option for 3.5 We Ordered takeaway Nepali Fish Curry, Chicken Chow Mein Noodle and 2 Garlic Naan for $45. Very First Impression: Expensive! Garlic Naan: $4 each – Decent size, certainly not small or thin. Would give it 3Stars as I have had better and cheaper Garlic Naans elsewhere. Nepali Fish Curry – Expensive at $19.50. This one is different from the ones I have tried at other Indian restaurants. Nice thick gravy. Not as tangier as a Kerala Fish curry gravy. Good number of fish chunks as you will see in the pic, but not soft or flaky. Good but not Great. CHICKEN CHOW MEIN (Indo Chinese) – Expensive at $17.50. Nice thick, Noodles with spicy chunky pieces of chicken and vegetables in a bigger takeaway box (but not filled to 100%). I personally liked this. My kids did not. Probably because it didn’t taste the same as other Indo Chinese chow mein they are used to. I won’t mind ordering more of Chow Mein if the price were reasonable. Overall, Different from other Indian restaurants, but I expect more for the price.

First time ordering here. We will definitely go back! Fast and friendly service. Very decent portion sizes. The prices are a bit above average, but it's worth it. Nepalese chilli chicken was a bit salty, but maybe it's supposed to be like this(?). We forgot to request spicy, so maybe that could've changed the taste. Beef vindaloo was really tasty. Our son said one of the best butter chickens he's ever had. Roti was a bit dry. Very good. Definitely recommend!

One of Bulleen’s little secrets The Hungry Hiker has been one of my most popular Restruants for a curry. 5 years in business and our fabulous waiter Amrik always serves us the very best… and this hiker, when he leaves is never hungry

Went for dinner with friends to Hungry Hiker on NYE. The first time for all of us. The customer service was great & the staff were warm & friendly. I wish I could say the food was tasty, but it was disappointing. We've had better Nepalese food. We started off with samosas for entree which we enjoyed. Our mains were the Hiker's goat curry, Sherpa lamb curry, Nepali fish curry & aloo mattar with saffron rice, roti, paratha & Kashmiri paratha. The curries were lacking in flavour. The rotis & parathas were dry & hard. Our friend who ordered the Kashmir paratha liked it. We wanted to try the restaurant after reading the positive reviews on their website & went with high expectations. The prices were reasonable compared to other restaurants. It is also licensed & BYO which is good. Would we try it...

Part of my order was not received when delivered (via Menulog), i phoned the restaurant to report the issue to them and they said they had packed it all and that it must have been the delivery driver who took some or my order. They weren't prepared to refund any of the missing order, or even follow up with the menu log people or driver about the missing food. There was no sympathetic response at all, or even a chance to rectify the situation with at least a credit of some sort. I wont be ordering from them ever again, disgusting customer service, and will be discouraging everyone from going to them in the future. A very dissatisfied...
