Tucked away in a quiet street youโll find hummusiya (casual Israeli restaurant devoted to hummus) churning out their signature hummus bowls, pita and Jerusalem style street food. Each dish was so fresh and delicious, you could also opt for a chefโs platter ($55, serves 2 people)! Decent variety and incredibly friendly service, we left rolling out of there ๐ง๐ฅ โข ๐๐๐ฆ๐ ๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ซ๐ฌ - crispy pastry and lightly spiced fillings accompanied with tahini, harissa and schug (fiery, garlicy and herby Middle Eastern hot sauce) ($15) โข ๐๐ก๐ข๐๐ค๐๐ง ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ฅ๐ข๐ค- spit roasted chicken was super tender, packed in all the flavours, served with fluffy pita bread and green tahini ($17.5) โข ๐๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ซ - couldnโt get enough of the silkiest hummus, lives up to their name! Various toppings available, this time with spiced lamb ($20) โข ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฅ ๐ฉ๐ข๐ญ๐ - made to order mixed with hummus, Israeli salad and tahini ($14) โข ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ (Israeli-style lemonade) blitzed with ice, lemon, mint, water. This wasnโt sweet but refreshing, perfect on a hot summer day ($7.5)

If you are heading to south Melbourne market, make a pit stop here for brunch (itโs only a 10 minute walk away). I was a little clueless because middle eastern food is still quite new to my taste palate. The owner gave us a formula for dining at his restaurant and I suggest you follow this: - Select your main - we went for the hummus chicken schwarma and it was AMAZING! The chicken meat was so tender and flavourful. I also loved how the creamy texture of the hummus went so well with the chicken onion combination. Order this, itโs such a healthy + filling dish. - Get some pita and falafels. We dipped the warm pita bread in the hummus and that itself was heavenly. Man, that hummus is something! Falafels were good too, though I still prefer the one I have in the city. - Order something refreshing, like an Israeli salad to balance the heaviness of other dishes. The best part? All of this JOY was only $32. I couldnโt stop raving about this place on the way home.

Fantastic food is the focus here! The cafe's decor might not be as trendy as the common Melbourne Cafe theme. However, don't let it stop you from giving this fantastic place a try. When you are here, it has its own vintage vibe to it. The food is absolutely gorgeous. The amount is generous and it tastes apart. The food is carefully plated and as soon as you put the food into your mouth, you know it's not your average brunch cafe. The dish has so much flavour and character to it that you will hardly sample similar taste in any other place. The coffee on the other hand is just average and can be better, but I suppose it's not their focus and it's still not what I call "bad" anyway. Lastly, service is good and attentive, nothing to complain about. For all the foodies out there, do give them a try, it's one of the best out there which hasn't been discovered enough.

Today we went for take away on a Friday for lunch. Friendly welcome as we entered the restaurant. The menu was explained by the owner and we quickly chose our food. Within 10 minutes we had our food ready to take to the local park for our picnic. Great tasting Israeli food. We had soft fresh falafel in a pita pocket with Israeli salad and the humus was awesome. Best thing was no garlic or ๐ง onions in the salad and thatโs great for people with food allergies. My daughter had a chicken sharama and she loved it. The chicken did contain onion but thatโs ok for her and as she went to the bottom of her pita pocket the comment was wow the Humus was yummy. Israeli style street food made with love! ๐ Will definitely go back! Shabbat Shalom blessings. ๐๐

Favourite Israeli restaurant in all of Melbourne. Have been many times, and the food has never disappointed. All the textures, flavours and colours of a wonderful middle eastern feast - itโs absolutely divine. The challah bread and pitas pair so well with all the meat dishes that we tend to order, and soak up all the delicious juices of each dish. Iโve loved everything Iโve tried on the menu, but some standouts are the chicken schnitzel challah sandwich, the harime, chicken shawarma pita and the roasted eggplant. The stuff are so friendly as well, and willing to give you recommendations. A must try in Melbourne.

Great cafe with sensational food full of delicious flavours. Walked past this cafe / restaurant numerous times and did not realise the amazing food they were serving. Great to see different breakfast / lunch options in South Melbourne. The Israeli menu is fabulous with the option to order standard breakfast options but why would you, there menu is amazing and the meals did not disappoint. Our meals took sometime however they were very apologetic and coffee removed from the bill to compensate - a rare occurrence with the majority of restaurants. Thrilled with their actions and hence 5 star rather than 4.
