Insta: melbfoodie_mark YT: MelbFoodieMark ** Check them out for more food reviews in Melbourne! I absolutely LOVE this place LOL. literally visited 3-4 times this week. Despite of walking past it multiple times before, I've never considered dining here until I found out it's one of the Zomato Gold partner restaurants. I am soo GLAD I found out about this place now.
I tried their Spicy Noodle Soup, Dumplings, and Spicy Chili Noodles. But trust me, just get Spicy Chili Noodles. God, it was one of the best noodles dishes I've ever tried in Melbourne. Despite of not having any meat in it, it still somehow managed to fascinate me with every bite. I'm usually terrible with spiciness but it wasn't that bad at all! Instead of being just overwhelming spicy, it had this savoury nutty spiciness which blended in really well with the noodles. Also, I could tell the noodles were all handmade giving them that extra chewiness we all want. Plus, the portion was disgustingly enormous! Easily 2 meals for most people. Real talk, I will probably visit multiple times again next week :) Overall, it's a must for UniMelb students as it's located super close to the uni, cheap & delicious, and a huge portion. Highly...
Read moreMy experience with the takeaway from this restaurant was very disappointing. I ordered the potato and beef brisket dish, but there were way more potatoes than beef, and the dish was excessively salty. The sauce was noticeably thickened with cornstarch, making it taste unnatural and unappetizing.
Additionally, the braised pork rice was far from authentic. It consisted of just two pieces of fatty meat, lacking the expected balance of lean and fatty pork that gives the dish its characteristic flavor and texture. The overall quality of the food was poor, and it was clear that there was little attention to authenticity or flavor.
Unfortunately, this takeaway experience was highly unpleasant, and I won’t be ordering from here again. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying and...
Read moreAuthentic Chinese food with a few issues. Close to the University of Melbourne, tha place was clean and warm. So I ordered a bowl of Spicy Lamb Noodles in Soup (thin noodles, $15.80) and the food was delivered without much delay. Of all the soup noodles I've ever eaten, the saltiness of this was quite high, which wasn't a great feeling. The noodles were the regular ones. The chunks of lamb were cooked well but a few pieces felt a bit off. The real hotness from the spices came towards the end. The majority of the soup was like flavoured brine. The staff were nice. Tgis place might've been famous at some point, but I can't imagine it retaining the title with...
