Smokey Joe's Cafe - Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Queensland

The start of the night was good, promising even. We were sat down relatively fast and they took our order for drinks and food very quickly too. We had no issues. But then thirty minutes went by and we were thinking great our food would be out soon. Boy were we wrong…. An hour and some. In that time. Not a single waitress had come up to our table or was aware of the fact we was waiting on food. They had every excuse to come up and ask if our drinks were okay then follow up with a question of if we had received our food. Or inform us. But no they were completely oblivious. The WORST service I have ever received in my life. And for my first time eating out in Hervey bay I had high hopes and was very excited. As a server myself. I was absolutely appalled by the service and was shocked. I would never serve in such a blatantly irresponsible manner. Even better yet, when the food came out. The burger was slightly cold and the steaks weren’t cooked how we had asked for them. But by this point, we were too hungry and upset to complain about the food. We only had one cocktail and a measly coke taken off the bill and had left very unsatisfied. Two hours of my life I’ll never get back that I could have spent...

If there was an option for no stars this would have reflected the experience we had on Saturday night. Group of 6 and all were stunned by the lack of service and value for money. Firstly it took 20 minutes before we were asked if we wanted to order drinks. The drinks come out and were either wrong or less than desirable. The so called bar guy showed us the worst customer service anyone of us have ever received. Attitude attitude attitude. Some of the wait stuff also didn’t have an absolute clue what they were doing. Our friends ordered the bruschetta for entree and 1 piece of bread appeared with half the ingredients missing for $17. Ordered mains but like previous times not enough ribs for everyone. Don’t know why ribs are on the menu when they never seem to have enough. Staff also forgot to advise until after we complained about the drinks there was a 15% surcharge due to public holiday. Due to the deplorable service and less then satisfactory drinks and entree the group decided to leave and not stay for main. Sadly being a local I would recommend this establishment to family and visitors on a regular basis, however they have lost ours as well as family and...

Bitterly disappointed. On holiday and had not eaten lunch so we were very hungry at dinner time. Got to Smokey Joes 10mins before dinner service started (5:30pm). Went to bar and ordered entrees and mains and drinks by 5:34pm (was second to order dinner). Waited until 6:31pm before asking staff if they could give an ETA as to dinner since others who ordered after us had gotten their food already only to be told that the kitchen had never received our dinner order. What the hell ??? If a ‘restaurant’ cannot even take an order and get it to the kitchen, no wonder the review ratings are mid 3’s. Feel we had every right to be annoyed and there was no way we were going to now wait (after we had already waited an hour) for them to properly do the dinner order … who knows if they would have screwed that up too. Paid for our drinks that we had and left. Maybe this is a one-off for this place but there are a lot of other places in Hervey Bay to eat and get the rest of our breakfast, lunch and dinner $$ for the remainder of the week we are up here. Recommend you eat anywhere...
