I used to be a frequent customer but I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant and have not returned since. My family and I walked in for afternoon tea about 20 minutes before the afternoon tea service ended. There were only a few customers (2-3 other tables), but despite our attempts to get the staff's attention by waving and calling out, we were ignored. The staff pretended to be busy with other unimportant tasks like walking in and out of the kitchen and wiping empty tables.
When a waiter finally approached us, I tried to order from the afternoon tea menu. The staff member rudely informed me that we were 2 minutes past the cutoff time and couldn't order from that menu (apparently the waiter did it on purpose and must be trained by the owner that they should try not attending customers before afternoon tea service ended). I explained that we had been trying to get their attention, but he dismissed my concern, saying it wasn't his problem and that we should have come earlier if we wanted "cheap stuff".
With no other choice, we ordered from the regular menu. Later, when I asked for some bowls, the staff member questioned why I didn't ask for them at the beginning, saying he was annoyed about having to make an extra walk.
To the restaurant owner: if you're not interested in providing good customer service, perhaps it's time to reconsider your business. Also there’s no need to offer items on the menu that you don’t actually...
Read moreIf you go at lunch time, you'd better be hungry... The menu is extensive and the price is very reasonable. You choose two options to go with your choice of noodles and soup base. We had crispy chicken leg with vegetables, and another Moroccan wings with lemongrass pork chop. They can be as different as that or as conservative as you like. BIG BOWLS. We would love to visit for breakfast or afternoon tea where the snack options are even more abundant. The hot Hong Kong milk tea came without sugar and was strong, it took 2 packets of sugar to get to the right "sweetness" of a standard HK milk tea - tasty! Parking is 2P, no ticket on Burwood Rd and yet with a ticket on the off-streets... Odd! If going for afternoon tea, leave your car at home or make sure you avoid Burwood Rd as the traffic becomes still at...
Read moreFusion Cafe used to be great, they have a very HK style food and seats are comfortable. Service is okay, I didn't expect too much to begin with, they mixed up both our orders twice, but forgivable. However, the food quality is just bad, I literally cannot finish my meal, the cream pasta is hard and tasted like watered soap water. I was very disappointed at the microwaved food, they literally put them right above the window where the food comes out, so I can see they keep putting food in. And as a paying customer, I expect the food to be cooked fresh, not microwaved. I only use the microwave if I needed to heat up last night's dinner, not expected when I pay at a restaurant, and the price ain't exactly cheap too. At $16, I can get something more decent...
