My Mother & I visited Surf Beach for 4 night's. When I called to place a takeaway order, the phone number was incorrect so I Googled a different phone number that connected to place our order. The man I spoke to was difficult to understand when placing our order but reconfirmed to me the store was located on The Esplanade. I drove to the store & my Ma attempted to collect our order while I kept my car running w my dog's in my car w me. My Ma came back to my car empty handed & said the store was closed. I Googled the address again & this time it said the store was located in Thompson Ave. We eventually found the correct store. We drove back to our beach Holiday house & opened our order. We paid extra for grilled fish. The fish was rubbery & just awful. The chips were barely a pass. My dog's were happy to eat what we couldn't. I love supporting local businesses & dislike leaving poor reviews. I rely on reviews myself so I feel I must be honest. We were shocked & disappointed. I didn't think buying fish & chips literally at the waterfront would be a very unpleasant...
Read moreI visit Phillip Island quite often and had been told by the locals to stay away from this eating venue but as we were desperate plus a party of 8, beggars can't be choosers!! After waiting for close to an hour for our meals to come out and tucking-in to our mediocre flavorless noodles. My 23yr old brother went to use the toilets and came back looking sick... he pointed to the cook at the stove and said the guy had just taken a 'dump'and walked out without washing his hands and we looked over and there and there he was cooking!!!!! All 8 of us ceased to put the food in our mouths (which was tasteless anyway) and walked out leaving it!!! We tossed -up fighting for our money to be returned but even to order their English was limited! Now I know why the locals stay away from this place as it appears only the visitors to the island frequent it!! We are hoping we don't come down with dysentery!!!...
Read moreFood took way too long and wasn’t great. Specified no onions of any kind in any of the dishes as my wife and kids can’t eat them. They get sick from eating onions, yet one of the three dishes still had onions. Was advised around 30 minutes for the food to be ready so went back to our rental property to unload the shopping. Returned 30 min later only to have to wait another 40 min for my food, and they weren’t that busy, just slow to cook the food. If they’d told me it would be over an hour I at least then have the option of waiting or going somewhere else. Onions in dishes when specifically asked for none, long wait time and food with very little taste.Usually our first stop for dinner on the first night in Cowes, but time to give this place the flick. Quality and service have...
