I was in the cafe a few days ago and witnessed an awful situation that the owner had to deal with - extremely rude customers. I am a mother, and I know taking kids out is sometimes difficult, but the team at Stables Cafe have always been very kind and considerate. I am in here frequently. The woman making the review - Kayla Cameron, on here a few days ago was rude and impatient with the owner who was trying to assist them and accommodate their pram. Owner of the cafe asked to move the pram to the other side of the table so the way through was not blocked. An elderly lady with a walker (who I know) was seated there and would not have been able to get past the pram. The behaviour of the two women was completely unnecessary, slamming doors and being absolutely rude when the getlman owner was trying to assist them very nicely. He had offered them a larger table and nice space to sit, and they were not happy when they came in. What she has written is wrong and should not be taken as fair. We must remember as customers that the people who take care of us all the time, every day, need some respect. I hope this woman reads this and acts in a appropriate way.
This has to be the very best coffee and cafe food in Ballarat. We are semi regulars here, and we also eat in Vesta x Jigs, the hotel restaurant. The team has had its share of frustrations over the past 3-4 months but haven't they bounced back well. Coffee was always top notch with their own blend, but the service and food here are the absolute winners. Friendly, fun and so welcoming. Food is exceptional, well priced and great value given the quality of the ingredients and the talent they have. The best in Ballarat by some margin and we love visiting. Do yourself a...
Read moreI asked for Bacon and eggs with a side of Hollandaise sauce, asked if it was cooked fresh and she mental it was. She had a look on her face as to say, do we know how to make it. She said it will take a little longer as they had to make it, which I said it was totally fine. I heard them talk and laugh about the Hollandaise sauce lots of times. Like I shouldn't have ordered it, who knows why they thought it was ok to mention I'm ordering a side of "Hollandaise sauce" 50 million times! Table was really sticky. A smile from the waitress, doesn't cost anything. The food was really good however, you could tell the quality was up to scratch! So I'm giving only 3 stars. -1 star for the way they made me feel about the sauce, and -1 for the waitress not cracking a smile If you don't want these reviews, then be better...
Read moreHad a lovely visit with a couple before they leave for Queensland next week for the winter. The only reason the atmosphere was 4 stars was because it was a bit chilly this morning and the door kept staying open. The place itself was lovely. Not too noisy, able to converse easily. Tables were not set in advance which is the biggest no no ever!Very clean. The service was good - still finding their feet a bit, but nothing to complain about. The food was great and served hot! Coffee was as expected from a cafe. Very friendly staff and atmosphere. We will return but soon will need to make a booking. Once people find this little gem, it's going to be hard to get a table! Prices are...
