Tuesday night ended our regular trips to your restaurant. We ordered our food (served by a lovely young guy) and hubby went up to collect it, he got chilli mussels and I a pizza along with Nuggets and chips for our son.
Food was good, no issues with the adult meals đđ˝ my son handed me a nugget and said it was too hard to eat. I took it from him and bit into it and it was ROCK Solid. They werenât burnt just very, very, very well cooked, the batter had that golden oiled hard crisp on the outside. I put the nuggets on the spare garlic bread plate and took my sons nuggets to cut them up, they were all rock solid. I work in hospitality, I serve food to hundreds each day, the nuggets were to me partially cooked, then re-cooked again when my order was placed but was obviously left in way too long.
Anyway I left my sons chips on his plate and just took the nuggets to the counter to ask if I could have fresh nuggets in place of what we had as my son canât eat them, the young guy was so pleasant and took the nuggets from me and said heâd be right back, THIS IS WHEN MY COMPLAINT STARTS.
An older lady, short blonde crinkly hair, manager? glorified waitress? Owner? Iâm not sure but she met the guy as he turned from the counter and asked what the issue was, I kindly explained and her reply to me was âwell how old is your son? theyâre about normalâ as if my sons age should matter when food is non edible and to be frank she was so very rude, while breaking the nuggets with her fingers. She rolled her eyes and walked away, I had no idea was I to stand and wait for her? would she come to the table? Should I follow her?? Nada!!!! There was no communication or comment from her as she walked away with the nuggets.
So as I walked to the right of the counter back to my table (hub 34) the young guy approached me, apologised for her rudeness and told me to take a seat and he will bring fresh nuggets to the table. I went down. 10min passed and she came to our table after LOOKING for me to tell me â theyâre making fresh ones, she will bring them outâ I thanked her.... 34 minutes LATER my sons nuggets still were NOT out!!! So hubby and I finished, our son ate some of everything on the table so we were leaving and I asked her at the bar/point of sale if she could cancel the nuggets as itâs been 35 odd minutes and we were leaving as it was almost 8pm, she looked at me as if I was not even there and replied âIâll check with the kitchenâ and continued pouring the drink/serving a gentleman. I was shocked at her tone, body language and her âcouldnât give a crapâ attitude.
The young guy who served me said to me as I left â I hope the fresh nuggets were better for your son, and have a great nightâ I replied âthanks but we didnât get themâ he didnât look too shocked. I left Seafood nation and I can guarantee I will never be back, even tho itâs a regular spot for our family gatherings and friends catch up with the kids.
Iâm shocked at such a large restaurant and with such large public dealings you have someone like her as front of house. You may need to reconsider your staff or management. Iâm not sure who she was but I know she was the most rudest person Iâve...
Read moreWe had dinner here recently. The place looks nice enough, very spacious and on the waterfront. We ordered the seafood platter for two and a serving of chilli mussels. Where to start? The seafood platter, which arrived after an extensive wait, contained oysters which were starting to dry out, fish and chips which had the not very appealing taste of cooking oil to them and not much else, prawns which were oddly flavourless and greasy and some salt and pepper squid which was akin to chewing on a piece of rubber covered in dough. Bizarrely when we mentioned not being satisfied with the squid the managerâs response was that they have had the same complaint numerous times. Um, if youâve had the same complaint numerous times wouldnât you fix the problem? The chilli mussels did nothing to revive our faith in this place as they were incredibly salty and not edible. The manager did at least give a refund for the mussels but it was really a case of too little too late. Tables in the place were going uncleared after other customers had left with seagulls swooping in on leftovers and scattering glasses and cutlery in the process. When an elusive staff member did finally emerge and half heartedly cleared a table (15 or so minutes later) scraps of food and cutlery were left on the floor and forgotten about. To make it worse we went on a quiet week night when the place was far from busy so just what the staff members were doing or where they were remains a mystery. One of the few we did see was a young blonde man with a man-bun who was stationed at the bar and who apparently is unable to smile or show any kind of half-decent customer service. However there is one positive to all this: the lemon lime and bitters were pretty good. Everything else... nope. If this place were to be taken over by better management and employed decent food and beverage staff who at least show some enthusiasm and experienced seafood chefs this place could be a winner as itâs location is excellent. As it currently is it is a major...
Read moreAbomination of seafood would be a more accurate name for this place. Burgers are ok and thatâs where it ends. Ordered also the salt and pepper squid and chips and it was horrendous. After sharing the meals between our family of 5 we finished and took the hardly touched squid and chips to the counter. I was approached by one of the wait staff who looked in the bowl and said âoh yep youâre the second person so far tonight, come this way. I will tell you though that you will be lucky to get a refund in this place, donât tell anyone I said thatâ. He led me to the kitchen where I was then greeted by the chef who said âahh yes there is a problem with thisâ! I had not mentioned one thing about why I was returning the food. The chef offered a replacement meal. I declined as we had finished dinner and we were leaving and a refund would be more suitable. He said he was not authorised and I would need to speak with the duty manager. Back to front of house I go to speak with the lady in charge. After waiting for her to even pretend to be interested she said I couldnât get a refund for changing my mind. I replied âI didnât change my mind, it tastes disgusting. Itâs cold, tasteless and does not seem freshly cooked at all.â Her response, âwell it wasnât made yesterday and is freshâ my response âI didnât say it was made yesterdayâ. I went on to point out that the first staff member I spoke with knew it wasnât good as did the chef so I will have a refund. Finally I got my refund after ramblings from the duty manager about how they must have fried it incorrectly. I KNOW IT WAS NOT RIGHT.
Finally I get to walk away only to be followed by the staff member I first encountered having a go at me for brining him into the conversation with the duty manager.
AVOID THIS ABOMINATION OF THE...
