Marias Mexican — Restaurant in Politische Expositur Gröbming

I visited this restaurant with friends while skiing in Schladming. There wasn't any vegan options on the menu and the waitress told me the meals were premade so other options on the menu couldn't be altered to be made vegan. She did kindly helped me tailor the vegetarian burger option so I got the burger without the bun or mayonnaise and a side of fries and she asked the chef to add salsa. The burger was a frozen patty made from mashed up mixed veg and beans and was quite greasy and bland. Not very pleasant. I took another star away because my friend ordered a burrito and was brought out a different meal entirely. She was given a baked potato covered in a cheese sauce and topped with a mound of melted cheese. It was also really greasy and she didn't eat it. She said the potato was shrivelled up like it had been microwaved. It was late in the evening when we ordered and the waitress seemed under pressure so we didn't bother complaining. Went here for a Mexican meal for six. We found the menu was limited and included some strange combinations that would not be considered mexican (like chicken curry tortilla!). The food had mixed reviews from our group... the burgers were good, Nachos were not great, and the curry tortilla was not good at all. The cocktails, drinks and music were great, and the place would be good for drinks and nibbles. We appreciated the staff recognised our feedback about some of the food and did not charge for those dishes. I would certainly go back for drinks and nibbles, but not a meal until the menu and kitchen...

My friends and I had a reservation at 8pm. When we got there the table wasn’t ready and we waited 20 minutes for it. When we finally got a table we had to wait 20 minutes for drink - and they forgot to bring 1 drink. We waited for the food for 50(!) minutes. The women’s bathroom also didn’t have anymore toilet paper, so I asked them to fill it up. 45 minutes later when my friend went they still hadn’t filled it up.

However, when we got the food it did taste good. But there definitely wasn’t enough personel, so the whole evening was just a lot...
