X-Celsior Caffè-Bar — Restaurant in Vienna

Terrible service was given upon first arrival. We waiting led outside to be seated and two waiters saw us but continued to watch the euro cup. When we walked in to sit down. We were stopped at the door and the waitress have us a very uninviting look. We are English speaking travelers and she gave us constant sarcastic replies, even rolling her eyes a couple of times. She spoke to us as if we were below her and not worth her time. After being seated, she came over to ask us what we wanted. Rather impatiently. I am allergic to alcohol and so I didn't order and she rolled her eyes when I said "nothing for me", 2 of my companions were quick to order but when they inquired about certain drinks she was extremely reluctant and sarcastic in her explanations. 2 of my other companions took a while in deciding. The waiters came back twice to ask and both times they hardly waited, and were extremely rude about it. Even letting out an irritated sound and a few eye rolls.

Horrible experience and certainly my last one. Been there several times now and i must say i never drank such a bad capuccino in my life. The waiter was unable to froth the milk resulting in bubbles - this on his 20k cimballi. After complaining he tried to school me. Another lady that also ordered a capuccino had the same argument as me.

On top of that the waiter, for the 3rd time if i remember correctly, didnt bringt me back the change as he was probably trying to make some money in addition to the tip i gave him.

Wondering how such a bad managed place can still exist.

Food and wine were surprisingly good. Service was quick and friendly enough. Missed my bus so I came here (in the evening before 9pm) looking for a light dinner. Ordered 2 appetizers - Octopus carpaccio and Beef carpaccio. Also had 2 glasses of red wine, Italian Chianti. I read latest reviews that this place has new management recently and so food quality and service have improved a lot. Perhaps next time, I will try the pasta. Maybe just coffee and wine since it is a nice place to sit and watch people going around in front of the...
