Cedars Pub — Restaurant in Alberta

Usually go to Cedars a few times a month with my girlfriend, best food in town hands down. Service is usually great and food comes quick. Won’t be going back now. They had run out of potato’s for a pizza they make and replaced them with spicy potato’s without changing their menu online and without notifying before making an order.

We ordered two pizza for pick up, got them home, started eating them and my girlfriend can’t eat hers because it’s spicy.

So I call and ask what it’s about and get told the above - “we ran out of normal potatoes and got these ones, nobody told me.” I asked if we could exchange the pizza since there was only a slice taken and offered it in exchange of course and was told there was no manager in tonight they couldn’t do anything for us. So I had to let my food go cold in order to make something for her to eat because the spice bothered her stomach and mouth.

Was told I could leave my info and the owner/manager (can’t remember) would be in touch last night or tomorrow via text.

I got no information, wasted money on a pizza and incredibly poor service and rationale on why they couldn’t just substitute for another pizza for their own fault and no notice.

Unfortunately won’t be going back, which is very disappointing because I do believe their food is the best in town and we do frequent it a few times a...

Second time visiting.. I ordered a foothills burger.... It was my mistake because I didn't look close enough at the menu... So plain, no tomato or lettuce, bun was like wonder bread with some melted butter on top... The wife ordered a beef dip.. It looked fantastic but her second half was over plastered with horse radish so she couldn't finish it.. The onion rings were under done and the batter was mushy... We were treated fairly.. Will possibly try again as maybe it was a new cook

Update. Thanks for the reply Nicky... I know you are a small business so I will definitely try you again.. We are in the area every week or two but I don't expect any different treatment so I will not expect you to make it up to us. We will order something different as I don't expect a menu to be changed for us. Everyone has their own tastes. The point of my review is/was to make sure someone wasn't slacking off. Keeping employees/management at the top of their game is so important now with customers only getting to have a rare treat out. I saw some other meals pass our table and said "wow, I should have ordered that" I have updated to 4 stars and will re-evaluate next visit. ...

Went for lunch. Ordered an appy platter and menu did not specify what was on it. We asked prior to ordering what was included and were told 4 different items. We agreed and ordered. Food came out and 3 of 4 items were not on the platter. It was all deep fried vegetables and cold wings. When the server came back we asked why none of the items discussed were on the platter. She said they just throw 6 items that are laying around on there. Would have been nice to know that when we initially ordered especially when we asked the question. $63 for deep fried corn, mushrooms, Mac and cheese triangles, vegi dumplings, zucchini sticks, and cold wings was a total rip off. Sorry was all we got, probably a decent place to have a warm beer if you have no other option but I won’t...
