We were a group of eight that got in as soon as the restaurant opened on Sat morning. Food was great. We got egg bennies and scrambled egg with both hash and home fries.

When it came to paying the bill, we realized that it was cash only. My friend was told that e-transfer was ok as well. Our bill came to $106 but when my friend calculated the tip in his head, he rounded the amount to $110 instead of $120. As we were walking out, the waitress Chrissy, ran upto his wife and asked if her service was that bad for such a small tip! Feeling insulted, guilty and small, she told my friend about it and he sent another e-transfer just for the tips.

From the clientele that came by while we were there and looking at their Instagram posts, it's clear that we were an oddity being brown. I guess that's the reason she decided it was ok to exhibit bully behavior.

I hope the owner does read my feedback and takes steps to ensure this doesn't happen to anyone else. Incidents like these prove that the tipping culture in Canada has gotten out of hand. It's not right to shame customers...

Came in this morning after googling breakfast places. I've driven by this place so many times before and now regret I never checked it out. It's one of those places you kinda see but don't see. Well, I'm happy to report after seeing it on Google we decided to come in and it's now my new best breakfast place to go and it's in Barrie! It's a small place, I like the decor, menu is on the wall. It's simple and the food was delicious Basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, homefries, and toast.. I've NEVER had rye toast this good ever in a restaurant. My plate was plenty, eggs perfect to order, light crunch to homefries, and omg bacon 🥓 amazing NOT soggy, NOT greasy, NOT small sad pieces butt plenty of it . I'd say this was perfect !! I'm sorry we didn't meet sooner The gentleman that served us was also super cute, one of those real people who may appear grumpy but you can tell he's a gentle soul and funny too😊

Raise a toast to an egg-cellent breakfast 😋

Thank you...perfect morning to...

I think you are wrong i give a lot of great reviews , 1 star you are definitely wrong ..speaking to people in the area they have quite the stuff to say about your restaurant but choose not to say over google .. all I did that day was call to ask what are some popular dishes to help me decide what to choose .. I call Pur & Simple or Wimpys and they took the time to give me some great feed back - Judging by your reviews the ones who do leave negative remarks you are very rude to them

Never been here before called to ask opinions on breakfast and the gentlemen was very rushed and not helpful and very quick to hang up

wow nice response owner:

I asked on 2 breakfast items to see which ones more popular at your restaurant as I never been to your restaurant , your response is just unbelievable:

No wonder why you guys are closing up

Alot of restaurants do in fact give out great recommendations and will make time for...

Small-town diners are more than just places to grab a bite or sip a coffee—they're the true heartbeat of a community. They’re where the waitress knows your name, your kids' latest milestones, your grandmother’s upcoming wedding, and who’s been under the weather lately. It’s personal, warm, and real. Where else in the world can you find that kind of service—not just attentive, but human? When the town begins bulldozing places like this, it’s not just about tearing down a building. It’s about erasing a hub of connection, a web of shared stories and memories. And once it’s gone, those everyday rituals—of laughter, comfort food, and belonging—fade with it. For out-of-town guests, where will they go to experience the soul of the community? Certainly not McDonald's.
