It's Brantford's summer, something's smoking in the air. I can smell it, all the way from my lawn chair. This smell, it's emitting somewhere from Brantford's down town. I need to investigate, I need to get around. Traveling through Dalhousie (Dal·hau·zee), I knew I was getting close. The scent of barbecue, straight to my nose. After a few sniffs, it finally all started to click. It was coming from Uncle Sam's, I better act quick. People in Brantford say, Uncle Sam's is the best. Going to try for myself, going to put them to the test. Firing up barbecue Ribs, Chickens or others. Such a vast selection, my heart flutters. Serving those award winning meats, straight from the pit. I can tell by looking, it's going to be a hit. After looking at the menu, the family ordered the Grand Slam. Just look at all this food, holy heck goddammm. Included is a vast array of meats, even including two sides. This can feed an entire army, I can't believe my eyes. The meal was spread open (on the table), sweat running down my face. I better cut it out, this groups not the place. Filled up my trough, not once but twice. Money well spent, well worth the price. Enough leftovers, it's going to last for several days. Reheat with the microwave/oven/fryer, recook in different ways. Meals so delicious, you'd shout out and cheer. What are you waiting for, why aren't you here. All this food and rhyming, it's been a lot of fun. Stick a fork in me fam, cause now I am done! Mic drop 🎤

Was in Brantford and this place was recommended. Ugh. Quite disappointing. The young guy who took my order was super nice and friendly. I ordered a combo and added sausage and brisket. When the platter came out it was all covered in BBQ sauce. Anyone that understands BBQ knows that's a no no. Let me taste your food and I can add sauce if it needs it. The portions are big. Major bonus. The brisket, pulled pork and ribs were basically room temperature. I basically could only taste the BBQ sauce. They are definitely "reheating" day or two or more BBQ. The meats were quite dry. Corn bread also dry and getting to the stale point. They give me plastic cutlery (a spoon and a fork) I had to ask for a knife and they brought me a bamboo one. I really wanted to like this place but I don't think it's busy enough to get fresh BBQ that doesn't need to be hiding under all sorts of sauce. Also id suggest getting pickled jalapeños or at least a pickle. This is standard for BBQ joints.

I love some good BBQ, this place is near by and so I decided to give it a try. The ribs were nice and soft with a decent amount of bark, the house sauce is good but not my favorite. The ribs were meaty and goodnquality cuts. The Mac and cheese was good. Very soft noodles with a classic mac flavor. Pulled pork was good but not very juicy, and slightly chewy. Fries come with a Cajun type seasoning, which I didn't mind. The side of beans were more of a stew, which I was not expecting however the flavor of it was notnto bad. The shell of the corn bread was a little burnt but still fluffy on the inside so not to bad. We got a good spread to try. The portions are a good size we ended up taking most of it home for leftovers, which was nice. So basically, we got two meals out of the deal. The service was great, and the price was fair. All in all, I was satisfied and would definitely return for some of their daily specials when I'm craving BBQ meats.

I do like good BBQ but the ribs were very salty and very smokey (made me a bit sick later due to the intense smokiness) also the Cuban rice lacked seasoning. My husband's brisket was very good. Another family member said the chicken fingers were under seasoned as well. Very expensive 4 dinners one of which was just chicken fingers and fries were $130. If you want good brisket I would recommend the brisket sandwich.

Edit This was Father's Day we got 1/2 rib dinner with one side for $19.95 plus a side for $3 since it only came with one. 2 2 meat combos for $33.95 each. We got 3 cornbread for $3 each since the dinners did not include bread. Pretty much what we would get at most BBQ places. Then we got a chicken finger and fries. So for what would be included most places we paid $128.59 after HST

Not saying the food isn't different because it is smoked. Just for the quality of the meals we received it wasn't worth the cost. I was aware that the food was smoked as well not sure if it is a difference in the type of wood used it was just much more smoked than smokers I have been to in the past. I did say the brisket was very good. I would just eat ribs elsewhere in the future.

Edit two: We did not get 10 sides. We did not get free sides even though we ordered the beans at opening. We understood the restaurant was busy and you had sold out. We gladly took the substitution.

We ordered and paid for 1/2 rack of ribs 2 sides 1 cornbread, 1 chicken fingers and fries, 1/2 rack ribs and brisket 2 sides 1 cornbread, another 1/2 rack ribs and brisket 2 sides and one cornbread. Yes the meat portions are slightly bigger than elsewhere, I agree. Most meals, even 1/2 rack ribs come with 2 sides and bread. It might be a better idea even to have smaller meat portions so folks can try a couple things like comparable restaurants do.

Just giving honest feedback to a new restaurant and letting the community know what they are getting for the price they are paying. For some it may be fine for others it maybe too much if they are wanting to sample sides and meats. This is why I suggested maybe someone would want to try a sandwich if they would like to try your wonderful brisket. This was a father's day treat for our family and we wanted to give a nice...

So we ordered for the first time on Saturday as we were having a small gathering of approx 4 adults , 3 teens and a child. I selected the Bbq box combo with two sides and purchased an additional side. First off, I called initially on the Friday evening to to ask which item would be best to feed 6 to 7 adults and I was greeted and spoken to with nothing but one of the kindest attitudes. I regret not asking her name so I could credit her in this review. She even assured me that she would be at the restaurant the following day when I called back to place the order after 11am and would make sure it was taken care of. My husband went to pick up the food later on Saturday at 4pm and was provided with the same amazing service as I received over the phone. Now, the food…. Holy moly I was not expecting the love the food as much as I did. Firstly, I love that they cut up all the meat so you and your guests can easily grab your portion, second it comes in solid catering foil pan and lid for easy warming in the oven. And finally every single bite we took from the chicken, to the ribs, to the brisket was smoked bbq heaven! Myself, my guests, including the kids loved it. The fries were seasoned and delicious (not soggy at all), the coleslaw and bbq beans were delicious! I’m telling you right now from the service to the food, we will most certainly be back there very soon. To all of you at Uncle Sam’s don’t change a thing please! Keep doing what...
