Decided to try our luck here as finding good Caribbean food is hard in the greater Vancouver area/ lower mainland and itâs close to where myself and partner live. My partner is Jamaican and he had called to inquire on if the food item that is traditionally Jamaican shown online was available and was met with a rude response from whom we presume is the owner needing to ensure my that my partner felt his question was stupid and why would he even ask as they are trini. We decided that we would still try the food another time so we walked in and were the only ones in the store. No greeting from the man at the desk and the vibes were way off. I ordered the jerk chicken but he said âno jerk chickenâ so I chose the stew chicken. We waited for our food and went to eat it in the store when we were told we canât sit and eat and must leave. Covid signs and social distancing signs are still up 4 years later. We made it clear that we felt that was rude to kick us out especially if there is chairs and bar table to sit at and no one else in the store. None the less, the food was in fact fresh and delicious but itâs hard to overlook how we felt and were treated as patrons trying to support a small business. If the craving is strong enough, we will just order off...
Read moreWow! I blown away by the flavours of the food at this place. We ordered the Jerk Chicken and Curry Goat Roti.
Jerk Chicken: I was so pleasantly surprised by the flavour of the rice and the chicken. The rice had this really nice fresh and uplifting flavour to it, well balanced with the spices of the chicken. The chicken, was spot on - extremely aromatic / roasted flavours all at once. It was a delight!
Curry Goat Roti: Just as beautiful as the dish above. The roti was thin and even throughout with that nice dhalpuri which adds some great texture to the gravy of the curry. The Goat was cooked perfectly, something which fairly few restaurants do so well.
Remarks: If you love Indian food, youâre bound to love this place. It gives you the feels of a nice home cooked meal. Tips: If you order the roti, make sure you order it unwrapped in the options and it would be nice if the restaurant could invest in something order than the styrofoam box because most of our curry...

3 months ago = The food is ok but the man working needs to fix his attitude. Overall the man's attitude takes away from the experience. He wouldn't give me a receipt and when I was staring at his computer and receipt printer he then told me it wasnt working and offered a hand written receipt. He also didnt put any tissue in the takeaway and when I asked him for some tissue, he gave me 2 tissues and we had 2 orders. Now if you have ever had a roti wrap you know 2 tissues isnt even enough for 1 wrap let alone 2. My feeling when I left was if he is so cheap to only give me 2 tissues what has he done with the quality of food ingredients. It's worth the drive to Port Moody to visit Rehanah's Roti. She has awesome shrimp roti. 3 stars because the roti was in...
