Employees consistently fail to wash their hands or change their gloves, close earlier than they are supposed to quite often, and the food is simply not good. 50% of the time there is a hair baked into the bread. Ingredients are never covered and consistently have bugs on them. Used to have my family pick a sub up from this location all the time, but after going in myself and seeing how terribly this location is run, I strongly recommend you go literally anywhere else. Firehouse subs is no more than 5 mins away. Yes it is slightly more expensive, but is far superior quality. I am convinced this location has been somehow dodging health inspections for years, because reviews like this are constantly left and nothing ever seems to change. Furthermore, I am 99% sure that the positive reviews are fake, as they're the only ones that get replied to and are constantly left immediately after a bad one in an attempt to bury negative reviews in fake good ones. Oh and not to mention, the customer service is horrible. Most of the employees are rude and/or abrasive, and (I know how this sounds) completely impossible to understand. Can't even tell you the last time I saw a subway employee at any location who was white. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with hiring people of colour and even think it's a great thing to see, but when the store is run by people of colour who hire exclusively other people of colour (and turn away all other applications) is truly despicable. Can't even imagine how fast a location would be shut down if it was the other way around. There is literally not a single redeemable quality about this location, and honestly - the franchise as a whole. Do yourselves a favour and steer clear of this...
Read moreNot many think of a Subway sandwich shop as a dine-in restaurant, but the place is surprisingly nice and comfortable. The tiled ceramic floor is decorative, and the walls are artfully painted. The place is kept comfortably air-conditioned, and the staff keep the place clean and quiet. The soft Latin music is unobtrusive.
But when it comes to the food itself, this idyll comes to an abrupt end. I guess I have only myself to blame for ignoring the CBC report showing that the Subway "chicken" has less actual chicken than other competing chains. I mean, I don't mind my "chicken" being 50% soy if it tastes good. Alas, it does not. That watery, muscle-less morsel of meat tastes like something that was manufactured, not raised from a hatchling.
Price is no bargain, either. At $7+tax for the two ounces or so of "chicken" in the Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap, this has to be one of the worst deals...
Read moreThese employees DO NOT change their gloves! She was handling meat (re-supplying), and then went to make my sandwich.....After being asked to change her gloves and completing my sandwich she walked to the other end of the counter to serve another customer and again DID NOT CHANGE HER GLOVES. This is so nasty and her co-worker said nothing to her at all. This is not a mistake as she is well aged and did the same thing twice. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't change them for a long period of time. No readable name on her tag and no hair net. I can only hope they improve as this is a food business.....Otherwise the inside of the restaurant was clean. Did not...
