The Slye Fox — Restaurant in Burlington

I’ve been here several times in the past, but never got around to my review. Now I was compelled to do so after a great experience here last night.

We chose this place because of the great food and they had live music on this night and were in the mood for that.

This restaurant is located in an unassuming strip plaza, but it’s very warm and cozy inside with nice booths and comfy seating. A friendly and casual pub feel.

Our server, who greeted us and let us pick our table, was amazing. She was friendly, efficient and patient, especially when we needed time to look over the menu and decide on drinks. I wasn’t sure which beer I wanted, as they didn’t have one in particular I like. so she said I could try one. I tried a ‘canoe’ I think. She brought some out in little cup for me to taste. That was really great customer service. I thought it tasted great and ordered a pint.

For our meals, two of us ordered the smoked meatloaf and the Mac & cheese with smoked brisket to share. The meatloaf was amazing. A generous portion of succulent meat loaf, with onion straws on top, with an amazing gravy served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was perhaps the best meatloaf I’ve ever had. The Mac and cheese dish was very good also. Creamy, Homemade Mac and cheese with generous portions of tasty smoked beef brisket cut into cubes. Also a very large serving, and took some home, and had it for lunch today and it was even better than I remembered.

We got to try the cole slaw as my son had a chicken sandwich that came with cole slaw and he asked for it on the side as he doesn’t care for it. I got to try it and it was delicious as well

The live music was great. The singer was a former winner of Canadian Idol and he was joined by a local guitarist. They played a good mix of oldies and newer songs that ranged from The Beatles, Roy Orbison and Oasis. It was a tad too loud but still really enjoyable.

Overall it was a great experience. The food was delicious, generous portions, very reasonably priced, with amazing service in a cozy and friendly atmosphere. And the bonus of free live music. I would highly recommend the Slye Fox and will certainly return in the future. It was not very busy on a Saturday night. So I just want to encourage more people to go out and support our local businesses. The last couple years have been tough, especially on the restaurant industry, so please let’s try to get out more and enjoy some nice meals while supporting our local businesses many of whom are...

So, I have to revise my previous four star review. Tonight as I participated in the trivia challenge with a group of 12 or 13 of my coworkers, a waitress spilled a glass of red wine all over my back. It was an accident, and I in no way fault the waitress. However I received no apology, and a different waitress simply handed me my bill (which I had asked for before the incident). I was of course upset that they seemed not to want to address the issue that my back was soaking wet with wine. The manager (I assume) came over and immediately began to give me a very hard time. In fact, I would say she was the rudest person I have yet encountered in the service industry. She dismissed my concerns about the wine, and suggested that I "call a whambulance". I was extremely taken aback and confronted her about her attitude. She immediately got in my face and began to demand what I knew about the service industry. I got up to leave rather than fight, but she blocked my path and asked if I was going to fight her now because I was a "big man." I simply asked her if I could leave. As I walked out the door, she continued to berate me inappropriately in front of the whole crowd. Again, while I do not blame the waitress for this incident, the bar's manager and her attitude makes it sure that I will never return. While I can't speak for my colleagues, I doubt they will...

Amazing Customer Service, Super Helpful People!

I ordered delivery through Uber Eats and there was a mistake where only 2 of my 5 items actually got delivered. I was a little panicked so I called them. Immediately I was talking to someone and they just asked me "what did you order?" and immediately got to fixing everything, offering to refund or even, if they could, try to get the missing food delivered separate from Uber.

I've had food missing from many orders that I've made through Uber, it happens all the time, but this is the first time any place has actually gotten the food that was missing delivered themselves.

They called me back and got my information for delivery and had the food there within a half hour.

I only called to see if I could get a proper refund (as Uber Eats had refused to refund me the money for the 3 items I was missing). Instead, I ended up having the missing food delivered to me almost immediately.

Absolutely amazing service and I could not have been happier with the food. Will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends, and would love to come in and eat in person when things calm down...
