Update: The owner took the time to find my order and call me to apologize and make everything right. They were polite, non confrontational and wanted to make sure we were happy. They went above and beyond to correct the situation below. The owners fast, responsive and friendly approach and by reaching out in person has definitely left a positive impact on us. Anyone this dedicated to making their customers happy deserves another opportunity. We will happily try them again.
Thank you Kanikas Fine Indian Cuisine for taking a strong positive interest in your customers. Huge kudos to their professional engagement on this. We ordered from here on Christmas Eve with high hopes based on the reviews. The online ordering asks you to add a tip for the food for pick up, but doesn't let you pay ahead of time. I did the order and my wife picked up the food, where they gave her the debit machine asking for another tip. Despite me telling her the invoice including the tip before she picked it up, she thought I must have missed it and tipped again....
Normally not a big deal.... but we ended up tipping 30% total and were missing a dish from our order. We called the store and they were willing to make the dish we were missing, but we would have to come pick it up. We agreed to it as we had company and wouldnt have enough food without it. Since we had to return anyways, we asked them if we could double the dish order and pay the difference as we had a last minute addition to the evening.
Normally when a restaurant makes mistakes like this and has you returning for dishes, they offer a discount or complementary side to make up for the inconvenience; instead they asked my wife for the order slip (had checkmarks beside the food that was put in the bag) that was on the take out bag to verify the order, (good thing she brought it with her, as they never mentioned they needed it over the phone), charged her for the extra portion (no big deal we knew tjat was coming) and again the machine asked for another tip.
The food was decent but not great, it was cold by the time got all; this plus the extra running around and order confusion it didn't make the meal...

Read moreHad really terrible experience. Firstly, I had ordered from skip for pick up as they open at 12 noon and drove all the way from Cochrane, only to realize that they had cancelled the order when I arrived. I had to place an order again and wait for 35 minutes for the food to be ready. Moreover, I had to wait additional 10 minutes to pay for my food as the transaction was not going through (network problems). When I placed my order, their tandoor oven was not even ready and I was forced to order only parathas. If your opening time is 12 noon, you need to be ready for service at 12 noon. Otherwise, you can change your hours to 12.30 pm.
Food was average at best. Dal tadka had too little salt and soy curry was greasy. I can't believe they have the guts to serve frozen parathas in a restaurant! Disgusting! Make fresh parathas using your hands! This is what customers pay for! Never coming back!
