The service was slow but the waiter made up for it with his humour. We weren’t in a rush but if you are this probably would be more of a problem. The waiter was serving the front cash with take away orders, answering phones and also waitering for the entire restaurant. They should have had a waiter for the front desk and another for the restaurant tables. Food came out pretty quickly though, just took a while to order it. The cleanliness of the tables were also a little gross if you’re a germ-a-phobe. There was still some gunk on the placemats and a lot of tables around weren’t cleaned up yet. If cleaned it seems like it was a very quick wipe down and reset of the tables between customers. The food however is where they get saved. The beef skewers were *chefs kiss*. Uber delicious. The red curry was spicy but creamy and delicious. The pad thai was only so-so. It was more the flavour of watery soya sauce with a side of fish sauce to dip the noodles into. The peanuts were really good and the waiter graciously asked and brought more peanuts for the dish. The chicken in the meal was very fresh tasting and cooked well. Will return for the beef skewers and curry but not the pad thai. Small gem in the rural Casselman area.

thegrandstan Alfred, Canada 166119 Pending review Excellent high quality asian dishes at reasonable prices. It is hard to find any decent asian food in eastern Ontario. BUT this palce proves me wrong. Asian dishes made by an award -winning Cambodian chef. I travel 45 minutes to get his food. Worth the visit. SInce the portions are so large, My wife and I have food fo 3 days. I always order enough so I can freeze for later (eg. soups). The only Tom Yum Goong and Tom Kha Gai soups in all of eastern Ontario (Ottawa excluded) and delicious. Owner Buntha is always pleasant and welcoming. Highly Highly recommended.

Small family Thai/Cambodian restaurant with very warm and welcoming owners. I had the Tom Yum soup which was delicious with nice shrimps. My girlfriend (who is vegetarian) had the other soup (chicken version) but the owner was kind enough to make it a vegetarian option! Which we really appreciated. As for main courses, we had the BBQ pork and the Vege Pad Thai. Portions are generous and everything is fresh. The only thing, for my preference, there was a bit too much bbq sauce with the pork. But other than that, very good. I highly recommend if you pass by and are looking for a place to eat.

The food is excellent at this Bistro. I have had some of the dishes he makes at other restaurants and they are not even close to the quality and flavour he provides. We call ahead for our take out and usually do not have to wait when we get there. He is also very personable. I HIGHLY recommend the exotic fruit sushi for desert for more than one person. His portions are not small. Having tried most of his offerings over time, the only thing I really do not like is the salad that has beans in it, but is just me. you only get 4 spring rolls in the appetizers, but they do come with sauce. He serves a different sauce with each kind, but I am sure you can ask for your pick from the ones he has - no plum sauce- but they are good sauces. This is not a junk food...

I tried the veggie pad Thai based on the strength of these google reviews. I was so happy to find a local option for Thai. I hate slagging a mom and pop ethnic place local to me, but the reviews here and my experience were so far apart. The pad Thai was maybe the worst I’ve ever had. It was basically plain noodles with some spring onions and sprouts and a container of sweet and sour sauce. Bland and tasteless. Pad Thai is supposed to get its amazing sweet and sour flavour from palm sugar and tamarind, not from a generic sweet and sour sauce served on the side. For $23 before tax it was a massive disappointment. To their credit, the people are nice, and as a celiac, I didn’t get sick. But I will...
