The Greenhouse Restaurant at Victoria — Restaurant in Central Core

It is difficult to think of a nicer setting for a restaurant than the Victoria golf course. The 3/4 wrap around patio provides lovely traffic free views of the course. Unfortunately the menu struggles a bit with portions. Some being ample ( the Greenhouse Breakfast $17 or the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes $17 ) and other portions being woefully inadequate ( Bruschetta Avocado toast $15 ). The food is tasty though and the ingredients quality. Another weakness is the seeming inability to serve hot coffee. Even after a request that the next cup be hot our server was unable to deliver. Being a city owned facility one does not expect much from the washrooms (which remind me of High School ) but to be out of soap and paper towels during a pandemic is unforgivable. Especially after mentioning it to the staff and still finding them missing upon leaving. All that said. Don’t let the summer slip by...

The outdoor patio is nice but I don’t know why I didn’t enjoy the general atmosphere of the place. The food wasn’t that great too. The waffles in the chicken and waffle should be crispier and there was too much hot sauce on it that it covered much of the food’s taste. Portion for the salad bowl was tiny which is supposed to be a main dish. I think it’s generally an ok place for drinks probably especially since the nice thing is that the waiters didn’t seem to be in a hurry to get you out of there, but I’m not sure I’d go...

We had my daughter’s graduation dinner in the private room. The staff was friendly and the service was great . The food was absolutely amazing. All of Chef’s dishes were delicious. We were lucky enough to take home leftovers. Warm and inviting atmosphere to have such a special event. Thanks to all for making our celebration top notch, much appreciated.
