They have brunch now!!! Alright I admit I waited to review this restaurant because their website said brunch was eventually going to be a thing. I love brunch. Nanaimo has precious little by way of vegan brunch to the point of me driving up to Victoria for brunch. Well folks, now Ladysmith has vegan brunch and it's GOOD. Before brunch they were a 5, and they remain a solid 5. Cute ambiance, wicked burgers, fantastic soup, generally glorious entrees, had a pasta special with beyond sausage that we got packaged up that made the people at my boyfriend's not vegan workplace go, "wow that smells amazing!" and now their brunch you guessed it... is fantastic. Vegan or not, treat yourself, these folks have great food. Edit: ok I had to edit my review because I forgot to mention their luxurious desserts but um this gluten free vegan filled orange vanilla cupcake is amazing. Their baker Maddie is a flippin' vegan and often gluten free baking genius. Usually I don't even like gluten free as a person who eats way to much vital wheat gluten based food, but I actually can barely tell the difference between glutenful dessert and this so a, wow, and b, you've got to try their dessert. The scones are great, the cake is great, the cookies are great when they have them, and everything I've tried is great. I even went here for Thanksgiving, and big surprise, it was great.

I arrived at plantitude for lunch, having bicycled from Nanaimo. This was my refuel that would get me the rest of the way to Victoria. As soon as I walked in, I was captivated by the beautiful dishes I saw floating around the restaurant. Every plate, I thought I want that! There was a pleasant calm in the air, all problems melt away at Plantitude. I was invited to sit in the courtyard, my table in the center of a hexagonal dome. When I looking at the menu I knew I was in trouble. Everything sounded amazing. As a vegan I am not used to having so many options. This is a GREAT problem to have. I desperately asked the server for some reccomendations, which did not disappoint. Both the soup and the tofu bowl were certainly delectable. The server was convivial, clearly stating that they love working here. Well we have that common because I LOVED eating here. For any vegans on the island, Plantitude is a must visit! I will even go so far as to say this is my favourite vegan restaurant

Lovely resto, all vegan! We will be back :) The spinach artichoke dip was great. We also ordered the butter chicken, Plantitude benny, and sassy monkey dessert! The butter chicken wasn't very buttery; more like a healthy stir fry version, with lots of tomato. Still yummy! Just not creamy or very rich. The corn chips that came with the artichoke dip were a little stale, but the bread was good. The Benny was delish! Would definitely order again. Didn't need the fruit cup though, as it didn't look super fresh. Sassy monkey dessert was delicious, but I wish they'd do a full fat vegan ice cream, not just banana ice cream. I've eaten enough banana ice cream in my raw vegan days 😅 Super friendly and helpful staff. Not very busy on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Awesome bathroom, and they also have a little "store" area on shelves where you can buy vegan marshmallows, chocolate, soy curls, hot sauce, etc. 😊 Thank you!

BEST FOOD ON THE ISLAND. Plant based or not, this restaurant is the BEST. I live over an hour away but always head that way if I'm eating out. The menu is fantastic; varied, relatable, and has items we haven't been able to have anywhere else. I have never had anything there that I didn't like; and I'm pretty sure I have tried everything on the menu because I go there so often! Great atmosphere with indoor or outdoor seating. Staff are always lovely. Desserts are delish too! Karen has created a beautiful restaurant that has something for everyone. We have taken non-vegans here many times for both Brunch and Dinner and they rave about the Plantitude Benny, potato skins, burgers, and risotto. I cannot recommend Plantitude enough! This place is truly the best in every way.

I am a meat lover, can't ever get enough steak in my body. My boyfriend suggested that we try Plantitude. I said, "Let's try lunch, that way if I don't like it or am not full we ca hit Macdonald's on the way home. Lol!" The Plantitude beyond meat burger was amazing, the best burger in Ladysmith, actually! I couldn't even eat it all either, and it came with soup and salad to boot! Plantitude is the only restaurant in Ladysmith that I can get a gluten free and dairy free meal, I have allergies to both. Outstanding service, 2oz alcoholic beverages and a great chat with the owner at the end of our lunch. If you think Vegan food will not fill you up, I think you should go out on a limb and try Plantitude. I was more than happy with the whole experience!

We stopped by Ladysmith on our way to Nanaimo and enjoyed lunch at this gem. I was pleasantly surprised by this all vegan restaurant. I got the panini and it was heavy on the sauce (a good thing in my mind) and came with salad and soup. I got the dill pickle soup and it was awesome, very flavorful, the salad was also good, very fresh with sesame dressing. My son got the crispy chicken bacon burger and was able to sub potatoes for the soup and salad. His burger was flavorful, with lots of toppings, good portion size and served on a pretzel bun. We ordered our food to go but the service was attentive and fast. All in all a great experience.
