Very disappointed on how the manager and other older lady server handled a situation involving my 3 year old and their outdoor "climbing apparatuses." It is absolutely understandable that they are not climbing structures and the situation was being handled by myself. Being cut off during my order to be scolded that my toddler was not to even be touching the structure is beyond me and this was the second outlash from this woman in regards to our last visit precovid when she was rude, very unpleasant and unfriendly towards me. I can't help but feel she profiled us and does not like children. I have been a server in my younger years and understanding the challenges of the customers and young families shows compassion. This woman was out to ruin our day with angry snarls and complete irritable intolerance towards the situation. Like I said very disappointing to be treated so negatively when we were all so excited to try the place out again... sad to say we won't be trying again. Customer service is very important and to feel singled out and judged by a "customer service waitress" is completely unacceptable.
Update:
Given the reply of "to whom it may be" I can sense the anger and rudeness in the reply demonstrating poor customer service skills and perhaps new knowledge is needed on how customers should be treated. I was simply ordering my meal prior to some off remarks made by someone who wasn't even our server, when I was completely cut off by an issue in my opinion that was already diffused and diverted. Honestly poor personal judgment was made on the servers behalf. I was not present when the conversation took place between my husband and her but also, during the break in covid rules, note month of review I was surprised to hear that I was not allowed to move out of my seat given the "covid bubbles" that were constructed.
However I am happy to know I was not the only one who rated a 1 star review due to disrespect and rude service. As for "not the place for me", I believe it was the perfect place for me. That's why I went to support you, it was you who didn't support me.

Ā Ā Ā Read morePlantitude My wife and I made a recent trip to Plantitude in Ladysmith to check out their brunch offerings and star gazer bubbles on a crisp clear west coast winter day. Once we arrived, we were given the current Covid Safety protocol and led out to the patio where we entered one of the dome shaped clear poly bubbles. The server was very pleasant and gave us a brief overview of the brunch menu and left us to get cozy using the provided lap blankets and ceramic heater while we perused the extensive menu offerings and enjoyed the modern jazz music playing softly in the background. We both were suddenly aware we had huge smiles on our faces as the experience of being in the bubble was making us feel incredibly special! ā¦.something neither of us had anticipated beforehand! Next up was selecting brunch and as usual, Plantitude never disappoints us non-vegans in having an interesting variety of items to choose from. We each selected a savory soup starter; one was mushroom based and the other asparagus. Both equally delicious. We both had open faced breakfast patty sandwiches with veg and cheese on a multigrain base. The uniquely spiced sauce combined with the patties helped provided an explosion of melt in your mouth flavors to enjoy. The side was their version of yummy home fries and a fruit cup. We had the provided water along with our meal and I particularly enjoyed a mug of their full flavored hot coffee and coconut creamer while we sat chatting and reflecting on our unique and fully satisfying brunch experience. The meal was delicious and the star gazer bubble pleasurable in every way. We cannot wait to come back to try the Dinner Star Gazer Menu and experience the Bubble at night! Thankyou...

Alright I admit I waited to review this restaurant because their website said brunch was eventually going to be a thing. I love brunch.
Nanaimo has precious little by way of vegan brunch to the point of me driving up to Victoria for brunch. Well folks, now Ladysmith has vegan brunch and it's GOOD. Before brunch they were a 5, and they remain a solid 5. Cute ambiance, wicked burgers, fantastic soup, generally glorious entrees, had a pasta special with beyond sausage that we got packaged up that made the people at my boyfriend's not vegan workplace go, "wow that smells amazing!" and now their brunch you guessed it... is fantastic. Vegan or not, treat yourself, these folks have great food.
Edit: ok I had to edit my review because I forgot to mention their luxurious desserts but um this gluten free vegan filled orange vanilla cupcake is amazing. Their baker Maddie is a flippin' vegan and often gluten free baking genius. Usually I don't even like gluten free as a person who eats way to much vital wheat gluten based food, but I actually can barely tell the difference between glutenful dessert and this so a, wow, and b, you've got to try their dessert. The scones are great, the cake is great, the cookies are great when they have them, and everything I've tried is great.
I even went here for Thanksgiving, and big surprise,...
